I discovered them with the It’s Called The Easy Life EP and would jam it all the time, but ended up finding the debut album to be a bit too polished and poppy back then. I got back on board when they ditched the screamer and the post-hardcore roots at the same time. The first demos they put out with James as the sole singer were pretty good and it’s a shame they didn’t re-record them for Fools And Worthless Liars. This one was my favorite
When I saw them live on the last album run they didn't play anything from before ATCN, which is a shame as FAWL is still my favourite record by them, and I still feel like it's their best although there is certainly a greater variety of songwriting on their new stuff. Really liked TPIAFL and the new one has some decent stuff too. Hurts To Be lonely and Tracing Lines feel like the stand-outs.
Holy moly they've just been added to Slam Dunk "Celebrating 15 Years of Fools And Worthless Liars" LFG!
I never thought they'd bring these songs back, but it's by far my favourite album. Little White Lies my favourite song ever of theirs. Excited for this
Little White Lies might be my favourite DH song. Also big on Hunstanton Pier. I saw them a lot on the Old Souls and Countless Night Cycles but would love to see the second setlist have a good amount of the past 3 albums I’ve not had the chance to see.
Definitely one of my favourites as well. It was quite a decent single for them as well performance wise.
The last time I saw DH on TPIAFL tour they were a bit disappointing but they were brilliant at Slam Dunk on Saturday. You can tell when James is in the mood. Their set was the highlight of the day. Played quite a bit of stuff from F&WL including Smiles All Round which was a surprise. It was nice to see them caring about songs from that record again. Friends Like These absolutely went off. Hunstanton Pier to finish. I've seen them a few times but this was the best. Felt like a real moment for them.
Yeah they were excellent on Saturday too. Most of F&WL, plus Fever, Trigger, Sinner, Smiles All Round, Boston Square, and Friends Like These (with Sean Smith doing the screaming vocals) That tour is definitely worth going to.
Makes me happy to hear they’re embracing their older stuff again. As a fan in the US I doubt I’ll get a chance to see them, but always stoked when they drop new music
Just got a ticket for London - I NEED them to play Friends Like These though, I'm serious. I hope that wasn't a one-off for Slam Dunk Fest
