Holy shit, so IGN just posted an article spoiling the first 30 minutes of the film. The real premise of the film is, IMO, very inventive while being super meta. McFadden's character pulls Deadpool from the Fox timeline to be moved into the MCU because Wolverine was the Fox timeline's anchor and after he died in Logan, the Fox universe has been slowly unraveling. McFadden's character wants to give the universe a mercy death and rise through the TVA's ranks, but Deadpool chooses to save his friends so he goes on the hunt for a replacement Wolverine to try to save his universe.
Interesting, I wonder if that means Ryan Reynolds will be done playing Deadpool going forward if that plan succeeds and he doesn't end up in the MCU after all?
I think it's more likely they'll all end up in the MCU and the sudden influx of strange and unfamiliar heroes from another universe is what prompts the MCU version of "a world that hates and fears them".
It doesn’t really matter if I read any of that in terms of my enjoyment of the film. But I think I’m out until I see the movie. And chances are, I’ll probably see those details elsewhere online. But I’ll see if I can avoid it I guess. See you all in two weeks.
Speaking of Secret Wars, ngl, if Holland doesn't wanna play Spider-Man anymore, I would be totally cool with them killing him off in a heroic act and bringing Miles over to the MCU from an alternate universe. Don't get me wrong. I love Peter Parker. My favorite comic book character of all time. But it would be a pretty close interpretation of the comics, but with some differences.
Sorry, I debated whether to post it or not, even under spoilers, but ultimately my selfishness in wanting to discuss this with people won out.
You’re all good! You tagged it and it’s based on a published article. I just decided to try to go in without knowing anything else. It’s only two weeks. Absolutely. I just don’t want to accidentally click on them.
I'm pretty meh on having things spoiled in the MCU at this point but I actually will avoid that one haha. And the Captain America trailer felt promising, so here's hoping I can get invested again in anything outside of Daredevil lol
The premise is interesting. I look forward to the movie even more now that I know the exact angle they’re going for. Throw more spoilers at me
