down with everything except the spin-off because I want less superhero movies to be made. This Superman is the most interested I’ve been in a superhero project in a long time
Look, I’m tired of there being an over abundance of adequate Superhero Content clogging up the culture, too. But, if DC Studios handed me a wacky Jimmy Olsen centric project, I’d eat that shit up and ask for seconds.
Bright Injustice game style suit without the head gear would be my favorite, though I imagine that's a unpopular take.
This is true. I mean, the only Robin that's been adapted to film happened over 20 years ago in a terrible film. Feels weird to skip over at least Tim.
I love Damian. I want to see it, but it does feel weird. Maybe because there have been so many origin stories of everything else and now they have The Batman, they feel as though they can just start from here and not confuse or lose the audience.
I haven't been following many of the DCCU developments as of late, and more or less went into that Flash teaser last night totally blind, so forgive my ignorance, but just trying to decipher: Are there now three independent universes within the collective franchise, or even more? I'm referring to the main canon universe where most of the films exist, Pattinson's Batman universe, and Phoenix's Joker universe?
There's a main universe and then there's everything else, which is considered under the Elseworlds banner. So yes.
I think he knows there's a lot of pressure to make a great Superman film and understands what many disliked about Snyder's version, so I'm optimistic about it.
I feel like the assumption has been that he'd direct it, though part of me did wonder if the co-head-of-studio role would make that difficult. A lot of focus is put on his irreverant and shamelessly juvenile sense of humor, but his strengths in the superhero film niche are wider than that. Love how he's managed emotional beats (even in the midst of fantastical nonsense) and striking visual sequences.
