The Flash is essentially in the can and there's no way they're changing the implications of it, unless the ending is the Snyderverse just (literally) imploding and ceasing to exist. In which case, why would Aquaman 2 be released after. The only way I see this all working now is to do a hard reboot, and end everything with any semblance of a connection to the Snyderverse. Let Shazam 2, The Flash, Aquaman 2, and Gunn's own SS and Peacemaker make a few last bucks, then just do a completely clean slate. For some reason I don't see that happening though, and I'm a little skeptical about it.
It sucks, yeah, but he is in charge of making a cinematic universe. You can’t be giving favors at the start. Everything is going to have to be smooth af for the ball to start rolling.
while Gunn is just tearing up the whole system he should resurrect Ava DuVernay's New Gods project. go hard or go home James
Massive LOL at including Green Lantern when he was never in a film. Just a shot in front of green screen in Snyder’s driveway if I recall correctly.
Who cares? It wasn't good. My favorite things is seeing "fire gunn, he's destroyed the DCEU!" And like, he hasn't done anything and WB already destroyed it way before he got there, calm down.
”Hey, you know, Snyder’s not great at emoting but this scene’s not so bad actually. I like how quiet it feels in the midst of all the chaotic superhero stuff and it’s a nice performance between Diane and Amy so overall this is actually a fairly pleasant - wait there it is.”
He wanted to keep Green Lantern in there, but WB told him no. He substituted Martian Manhunter because he felt bad cutting a new black hero from the end. (Debatable how much a shapeshifting martian counts, lol, but the intent is clearly there.) That awkward transformation around the middle-ish of the film with half-baked CGI, that doesn't really make sense story-wise, is the weakest point of ZSJL. Wish Jon Stewart were kept at the end. That take was never gonna have a true sequel, though, so hey, whatever.
All these #firejamesgunn people on twitter are such weirdos. Like if you take just 5 seconds to think about it, its pretty easy to understand why DC desperately needs to reboot. They have no solid foundation to build off currently. Afleck was never gonna come back as batman, Ezra Miller is a pr nightmare, and for a cinematic universe the continuity between movies has been abysmal. Yeah it sucks about Cavill since he could have been a great superman but DC fumbled the bag hard with him. They had so many years to figure something out with him long before Gunn came into the picture.
