Hope Reginald Hudlin is producing, not writing, ‘cause I’m not a big fan of his writing. But, getting a Static film & having MBJ’s creative voice in the mix is exciting for sure. Love this character so much.
Thank goodness both still say “films,” not “miniseries” or whatever. Batgirl & Static are two of the best characters DC has published, so I’m certainly intrigued. Especially if being HBO Max films gives ‘em a chance to be more creative with ‘em. This being part of a bigger push to crank out a ton of DC content, at the same time that Marvel & Star Wars content is also cranking up, is... less appealing to me. But, that’s its own conversation. Hopefully those two parts of the glut are at least worthy of the characters.
The full quote from The NY Times article: Six movies a year AND TV shows. I think the Marvel plan was 3 movies + 3 series on D+ a year. geesh.
Marvel’s got 4 on the schedule for next year & 4 in 2022 (though the pandemic can still change that, of course). And, depending on the Hawkeye schedule, there could be around 5 Disney+ shows in 2021. (And, that’s without factoring in any Sony Marvel films outside of Tom Holland Spider-Man.)
Fair point. Either way, feels like they're going way big too soon with DC. But maybe that's because the track record is more spotty (IMO).
Yeah I completely agree with this, Harley and Doom Patrol are my favorite suphero shows which is pretty huge since I tend to prefer Marvel. Excited to check out Titans now that it's on HBO Max too. Their movies have just been too hit or miss.
Harley is one of my favorite things I watched this year. The casting is incredible. Ron Funches is a star
