See, that's exactly what I'm saying. She just feels forced. Amy Adams is a great actress and Cavill is a wonderful actor, especially as Superman, but the way they used her and directed her character was just awkward.
Lois and Clark had a couple nice moments in BvS, actually, but there wasn't much development, they were just nice couple-y moments with no build up to anything or resonant fallout. Clark and Lois should be a love story, and the Snyder arcs of those characters are nearly completely void of any romance. The first big kiss in Man of Steel is right after like, hundreds or thousands of people have died and they're standing in the dust of an annihilated city and the threat is still active. It's so tone deaf, and the weird joke doesn't make sense and is tonally off, gah it's bad. Margot Kidder and the animated series Lois are really great. The Snyder movies did okay in portraying the investigative journalist aspect of her, but if you look at her arc mechanically, it's just in service to Superman, she's not her own person in any meaningful way.
Amy Adams is talented, has good chemistry with Henry Cavill, and did fine in her earlier scenes in Man of Steel. When I think "Lois Lane," I think of someone with a bit less warmth and more bite than the average Adams role, but I'd still like to see her get a chance to be in a good Superman film. Especially after BvS did her dirty with that stupid bath scene.
I have not. Though in all fairness, I did say "average," lol. I don't keep up with the world of television, but I'll have to look into Adams' performance in that series.
Not holding my breath Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN Is Reportedly Still Years Away From Reaching The Big Screen
Yeah, Gambit is such a tired creation now. I hope Batman gets made but with the shake up going on with DC and Batman I'm not holding out hopes for one soon.
We already lost the best Batman we've had, I just hope we keep that Gordon and Alfred but probably not. Also I want to see Deathstroke!
I was very excited about Ben Affleck directing himself in The Batman as I am a big fan of his as a filmmaker and an actor and think he was great as Batman in some not great movies. His take on the material was intriguing and exciting. Matt Reeves is also a very strong filmmaker but honestly, the longer the DCU movie cluster---- drags on without a strong vision for corrective action guiding things the more I just want to see Matt Reeves walk and take on something with better odds of coming out good in the end. You know, like the sequel to a CGI-heavy remake of a sci-fi classic about apes. If I were a (successful working) filmmaker, seeing how so many of these films have turned out would honestly make me not want to touch a DC movie with a ten foot pole, despite them having arguably the best classic superhero characters.
On the other hand, whichever director finally nails the DC movie formula could get in line to be the new Zack Snyder of the the DCEU.
That is very true. It is a tremendous opportunity. The odds of getting your film through their pipeline and released in a way that resembles what you originally intended just seem so low. I could definitely see Suicide Squad's misguided and bad take on The Joker being David Ayer's idea and fault. That seems like him. But the incoherent mess that was that movie overall? He's a better filmmaker than that.
Going in a young direction here. 'Birds of Prey': Ella Jay Basco in Talks for Cassandra Cain in Superheroine Movie
I'm pretty excited we are getting this, esp since I'll finally get to see Black Canary and Black Mask in live action!
