For those of you into Hollywood gossip and hungry for some Superman: The State of Cavill's Contract Negotiations To Stay On As Superman, And That SHAZAM Cameo... - Revenge of The Fans Basically, DC (allegedly) wanted to announce a new Superman film off of Justice League momentum, but since that film had the opposite of momentum, they're waiting to see how the new Mission Impossible is received. But both parties want to do more; it's all down to what the contract looks like.
Warner Bros. finally responds to the Snyder Cut, has no plans to release “any alternate versions” of ‘Justice League’ -- I can't read the linked wsj article unfortunately cause wsj subscription
Yeah it's a huge bummer but I never expected to get it. They never should have cut it all up to begin with.
I do, it's just gonna be hard to not think of Heath and compare them plus idk can there be more than one Joker like there's more than one Spider-man
I mean, I guess we'll just have to see haha If I had creative control over DC things would be vastly different including having a live action Batman Beyond film.
I'm legit excited for the Phoenix movie, I don't think he would have signed on if he didn't believe it was great and unique
Out of this next wave of DC films (Aquaman, Shazam, The Joker, WW 1984), I'm pretty easily the least interested in Joker. Sure, having a standalone, grounded film starring Joaquin Phoenix is cool. I want every studio with Big 2 comic properties to take more risks like this. And, since this is clearly its own thing, I don't have the same origin complaint a lot of people do; this isn't THE Joker origin, but rather a story inspired by the Joker. I also have no problem imagining non-Ledger Jokers. However, an "exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale" doesn't sound like the most appealing story premise to me. Especially in our current socioeconomic climate. I'll see it and hope for the best. It'll certainly be well acted and could end up addressing some big themes in a compelling way. I'm just concerned that the protagonist isn't someone I'm gonna wanna get invested in.
Aquaman trailer has me very hyped for a movie I expected to not care about at all. I think if DC/WB just focuses on making great solo, stand alone movies for a few years they will be in a great place by the time they want to do a Justice League sequel.
Hopefully it's just a great gangster movie that at the end, the accident happens and he becomes the Joker. I'd be ok with that.
The Joker having a mom is weird to me, like isn't the whole point that he's mysterious and doesn't have a past, I don't want to know how he got those scars
If it's Killing Joke, WB is so fucking out of touch. They tried it as an animated movie and it was fucking awful.
