I think it more of a narrative way to explain why Batman is recast, and some plot points in previous films aren't brought up again.

General audiences don't want some narrative way to explain Batman being recast. Make a good solo Batman film with a good actor in the lead role, keep Jeremy Irons and JK Simmons in the supporting cast and maybe a generally similar Batman costume, and people will roll with it.

I would much rather have some explanation, but I also don't consider myself a part of the general audience for these films. If they are planning to do Flashpoint anyway, I feel like consequences are a big part of Barry learning what it means for him to mess with timelines.

Like if Flashpoint starts with Ben as Bruce and when Barry returns it's a different actor, I think that'd be perfect.

It's worth mentioning that Flashpoint in the comics was originally meant to just be a big Flash story that happened to cross over with other characters due to the size of the story. But, the aftermath was only going to be relevant insofar as it impacted the Flash characters' narratives going forward. Nothing permanent continuity-wise. That was tacked on during the development process because some people at DC wanted a big reboot to bring in new readers, but it wasn't Geoff Johns' original plan. If anything, DC Rebirth proves that Johns didn't like that idea.

This would be so confusing and distracting for the average viewer, lol. And it'd be so unnecessary.

I miss the Christopher Nolan Batman days. What a revolutionary series for the comicbook genre. The Dark Knight will always remain as one of my all time favorite movies.

Speaking of Batman, for all of Justice League's flaws, let's not forget how great Elfman, at Whedon's request, briefly going full '89 Batman was. I don't know if that theme will fit the tone of Reeves' The Batman, but if it's not terribly out of place, I'd love to hear it again there.

I hope Reeves keeps the movement of Batman from BvS and JL, like how he was fast and nibble like in the comics/the animated series. If we get another Nolan Batman where he's slow and bulky, it's not going to be great.

Detective noir vibe sounds perfect. I like the speed and fighting we've seen in BvS and JL, which has some of the best Batman action, but I would really love to see him interrogating someone with his cape draped over his entire body ala The Animated Series.

They should do both. I feel like with the story of BvS and JL, we didn't get to see that Batman do a lot of detective work. We saw Bruce do a little bit which was cool, but not enough. I would love for them to keep everything about Ben's Batman and just add the detective stuff instead of swap something out for it.

There's got to be a way to get white eyes that doesn't look weird too.

Spiderman doesn't look weird. I don't think white eyes on batman would look weird, I just think we don't know how it'd look because we haven't ever seen it in live action yet.

  14. What are the chances of us seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan suit up as Batman in Flashpoint? 0%, you say? Ok...

I don't think I'd want Batman in live action with white eyes. If they do it and it works, cool, but I think it's smart to let audiences see his eyes.

Also, if you wanna think about what that'd look like, Spider-Man probably doesn't make the most sense. That's a pretty different design. A better example would be Deadpool.

As for Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Batman... That honestly sounds very likely. The way I'd do it is organically fit a conversation between Barry and Bruce where they address their losses from their pasts, use the Thomas Wayne Batman during the Flashpoint timeline, and then have Barry giving Bruce his dad's letter at the end. Of course, for this to have emotional impact, you have to ignore that dumb Flashpoint recasting idea and use the same Bruce on both ends, lol.

  16. I really like the animated Flashpoint movie, and one of my favorite moments is (Possible future spoiler? haha) Bruce shedding tears at the end when Barry gives him the letter

It should be retractable white eyes. Use it when he's stalking/fighting, and remove them when talking with other people, I think it could be really cool.

The more I think about it, the more I think Flashpoint would be a great final Batfleck appearance. The whole Thomas Wayne thing would be a nice bookend to what BvS attempted to be.

I just hope we get a good movie for Batfleck's final appearance.

Agreed. If it's Flashpoint, he really won't be in it much....

May have been mentioned but did his small appearance in SS count in his contract? I can't imagine him being in Flashpoint much but I'm okay with that. I want lots of focus on the Flash in my Flash movie.

Holy shit, how have I not noticed until now that Batman has never had the white eyes in live action before...
