The Wachowskis will never take over a huge property again because they don't want to. I'd love to see what those two come up with the Flash, but it will never happen.
Idk, I just think recasting each film is kind of silly. I'd have different directors that actually can create their vision.
As a animated film sure! We need to get the DCEU in line first before we start throwing around "what if" stories lol.
This will be my third thread saying this, but I hate that. I really enjoyed Affleck's Batman. Batman's history as presented in BvS probably isn't ideal for universe building. I hope they don't give the mantle to another character, or just re-cast Bruce. Maybe Barry alters a timeline where it has consequences for Bruce's history.
@drewinseries I have quite the opposite opinion on him hah. I think his age is a legit concern for the character. Wrote some thoughts on it here: Should Ben Affleck continue to play Batman?
I agree that his age isn't ideal for starting a universe if you're going to have Batman helm it (because why wouldn't you). Regarding your article, curious as to what you didn't like about Affleck's Batman. You noted you liked his Wayne, but not Batman. Curious as to what you mean specifically.
I thought Affleck was a better Batman than Bruce, though Bruce might've been written a tad better (the reckless treatment of human life wasn't great). I'd contrast that with Bale, who was a much better Bruce than Batman. Affleck also had easily my favorite Batman costume, which I don't think looks quite as good in JL thus far. Regardless, Affleck on a performance level was my favorite of both Bruce and Bats thus far (besides West and Conroy, but comedy and voice acting are obviously very different beasts).
Pretty much agree with all of that. I think it was hard for people to take in a weathered Bruce after the valiance of Bale's Batman. But I thought Bruce running into the smoke in the intro scene at Metropolis was a great image of Ben Affleck as Bruce for me.
Well I didn't like BvS much aside from the WW stuff. So I don't think that helped at all hah. I think his Batman just didn't land for me. Like I don't think I ever got that "oh shit, it's Batman" feeling when he showed up on screen. Maybe if they had given him his own movie sans Superman and WW first I would have liked him better. Hopefully this makes sense hah. Also, I was talking to a few people in the Hidden Remote slack about the solo film and I would really love for them to just give him a good detective story instead of something along the lines of the madness that was BvS. And I don't really want the first solo one to have the Joker as the villain either haha. I just think a younger Bruce/Batman would be better to build off, especially if they plan to do a trilogy and have him show up in other films down the line.
That could be pretty cool. I'd prefer a more traditional Flash story, but the first season of the CW series already did a fantastic job with that, so full on using Thomas Wayne Batman and whatnot could be a lot of fun.
