Lots of Aquaman news. Cool. Still looking forward to that one. When is it supposed to come out? At this point, I'm guessing Aquaman and The Batman are DC's 2018 films, right? Dunno if they're still hoping to get The Flash out next year.
Aquaman is shaping up to be awesome! I think 2018 was suppose to be Aquaman and JL2 right? I know they kinda scrapped JL2 which was for me, the start all the bad signs with this DCUE. I'd assume with you guys that they want to stick Batman in there, that's why they don't want to wait for Ben to get the script right before going forward.
I know Ben brought Terrio in the loop after Argo was a hit. I think he also rewrote BvS as well and did the JL script by himself mostly. I guess we'll see if this is a good sign after we see JL?
In 'John Wick: Chapter 2,' Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne are back together after all these years
He also talked about how Marvel is kicking DCs ass live action movie wise, and he's not wrong lol. I love the honesty "what do you need the newspaperman in “Justice League” for?"
Let's all take a moment to remember that internet rumors related to comic book films are wildly untrustworthy. Enough truth leaks that they're not all completely wrong, but the truth-to-nonsense ratio isn't pretty. Now that we've got that regularly scheduled PSA out of the way: RUMOR: Ben Affleck May Not Want To Be Batman Anymore If even half-true, this would have a potentially huge impact on the DCEU. I'm sure a lot still depends on how Justice League and The Batman turn out, though.
Poor Affleck. If he wants out I can't blame him. I hope it's not true as he seems to be the one that is tying all the films together.
They're also looking at other directors, including Daniel Espinosa. Warner Bros. Courts Mel Gibson to Direct 'Suicide Squad' Sequel
Said this in the SS thread, but Gibson makes great movies but I'd rather he keep away form super heroes.
Ruben Fleischer and Jonathan Levine are reportedly also being considered. Mel Gibson, Jonathan Levine and Ruben Fleischer Among Directors Being Considered for ‘Suicide Squad 2’
I've enjoyed movies from all three. Gibson is the stronger director but not only as it isn't his style, did he recently blast WB and call BvS a piece of shit in an interview? Hard to imagine WB would call on him.
So happy with the Matt Reeves confirmation of directing The Batman, and just the thought of their being a Nightwing movie, finally the batfamily getting some love.
