Now that we're getting a Miles Morales animated film, I can make begging for Jessica Cruz a top priority! lol. But seriously...
Is her story a continuation of Johns' Justice League run or will they give me a good intro to why she is a good guy?
I had only read little snippets of Green Lantern and Justice League material before the Green Lanterns Rebirth series and was fine. I don't think they went that in depth into what happened in Justice League; they mostly just talked about her life before everything started, and a Green Lantern ring choosing her (but her doubting herself).
Yeah her origin story was pretty much in the Justice League and it was one of my favorite parts of the whole run. Instantly connected with her.
Joby Harold to Do Page-One Rewrite of ‘The Flash’ Script (EXCLUSIVE) So, this guy hasn't done much. He has writing credits on the upcoming King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) and Robin Hood (2018). He also wrote and directed the film Awake (2007), which I've never heard of. Not much to go on, so I'm not exactly excited...
The biggest shock is now I know they are doing another Robin Hood movie..... But yeah, poor Miller and cast, why can't they just get off the ground...
weirdly enough I can't disassociate this movie from an ex-girlfriend and have not been able to appreciate it on a pure movie level since but fair enough
I kinda wonder if the issues with The Flash are tied to Geoff Johns gaining more and more control. The Suicide Squad script was infamously cranked out really fast. Plus, that one rumor about The Batman having a messy script that the studio didn't care about might be partially true: I could see the studio wanting to crank films out, but people like Ben Affleck fighting that mentality by pushing for good scripts before moving forward. That tension could be why The Flash has lost two directors already, as well as why it's getting a page-one rewrite. Maybe the studio is reluctantly agreeing to allowing more care to be put into these films. Granted, this is based off an attempt to make sense out of multiple rumors in an industry that breeds an absurd amount of nonsense, lol. Still, it makes some sense and would honestly make me more excited about the next wave of DC films.
Nope, I agree full heartily with you that is the situation. I think even though we don't have the facts, we've seen/heard enough to know that is probably the case. That's why when they announced all those extra movies I was distressed since they cant even nail down the flash which is already casted and just waiting.
Woah. Says he can't perform both duties (actor/director) at the levels they require, so he's stepping down so he can fully focus on the performance. Currently looking for a director. Ben Affleck Will Not Direct ‘The Batman’ (EXCLUSIVE)
What terrible news. Ben has acted in all of his movies right? I don't buy it. Maybe if this was the first director DC lost, we didn't keep getting movies the studio messes too much with far into production and we didn't hear of all the script issues, I wouldn't think this was so much of a big deal. Shame because I really thought this would be the one film they would easily knock out of the park.
Your turn again DC has been fun to watch, lol. Part of me does wonder if there's more to the story for the reasons stated here, but at the same time, I could see WB/DC really wanting to please Affleck. The pressure of all the comic nerds watching his every move may have been too much. Or, maybe all the big action sequences, costumes, etc., are too much for him as a simultaneous director/actor to handle, compared to past projects? I guess we'll see.
Hahaha, I am such a DC fan boy but I think I've always been fair. All this stuff is breaking my heart though lol. You have a point about it being too much for him, I remember seeing an interview for Live By Night and he was getting pretty upset that he sank years of his life into this movie and all anyone wanted to talk about was Batman instead. Shame, because LBN wasn't a bad movie, just not great. I think the only big action scene he's ever shot was the ending shootout in The Town? I'd assume there are fight choreographers and cinematographers on set to do the action stuff with all movies though. They just need a Kevin Feige type guy, I don't care who it is. There has been so many shake ups with WB management in the last few years, I'm sure that doesn't help at all and probably where the issues stem from, no one is on the same page....
'Aquaman' Finds Its Black Manta Villain With 'Get Down' Actor (Exclusive) He still in talks, but it Looks like Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is going to be Black Manta. He's known for The Get Down, which I never got around to watching.
