Im in just hope they dont wait til the last episode to have them suit up or do actual green lantern stuff
I'm interested but I'm still skeptical of the premise of taking space cops and putting them on the set of Yellowstone.
I don’t really watch television, so I don’t see myself getting to this. But, I think the teaser’s tone looks neat and could be used for a good story. (Not that the creatives are ones I’m generally into, myself.) Going for a bit of the “Hard-Traveling Heroes” stuff of O’Neil & Adams but through a Logan filter is fine. Especially in a world that also has Superman, so it’s not like they’re afraid of getting comic-book-y. Theoretically, they’re doing this because of what vision they’re moving towards with intent, not because of other avenues they’re scared to embrace. If they avoid costumes and space and Kilowog here and save that angle for other projects, then cool. Better to be like, “this one is a literal cartoon, and that one is a low budget horror movie,” than to have a steady flow of uniform MCU slop.
Idk if they’ve said what state it is actually in lol but the showrunners have said they basically tried to make true detective in a superhero context
It looks fun and tonally different from Superman and Supergirl (not that those are bad but variety in a shared universe is appreciated) But it’s on HBO Max, the streaming service with the worst design and customer service.
Makes sense when one of the creators is Tom King, whose Supergirl comic (that inspired the movie) is basically “what if I did a True Grit with Supergirl?”
Still think it's odd to have a villain origin story in a vacuum, but I trust Flanagan and Gunn enough to see where this goes, especially since Clayface is one of my favorite villains.
Just don’t view it as “a villain origin story.” That’s technically what it’s based on, but I don’t think the primary goal of the movie is to introduce a character to do big things later or whatever. If they succeed, it’ll feel like a cool horror movie that just happens to utilize concepts that started in Batman stories.
Alright, they sold me. Looks dope, and we have potential of John Stewart kicking Hal Jordan's ass, so there's that.
