Birds of Prey was a very "okay", flip-through-my-phone-at-times kinda movie for me It wasn't bad but it wasn't very good
Birds of Prey rules, easily in my top 5 movies-based-on-DC-Comics-characters. What Cathy Yan and Margot Robbie did with Christina Hodson in that movie was so cool and fun and special. Cannot say Hodson reteaming with Andy Muschietti on a Batman movie after what they did with Flash fills me with any level of excitement. But, the Matt Reeves series isn’t done yet, and there’s that weird Clayface movie that could be cool, so whatever. Don’t really need this other move in my life.
Welcome to Derry restored my faith in Muschietti. I never actually watched all of Flash, only the Supergirl scenes. I think the Birds of Prey movie is so fun. buuut now that i've read the Birds of Prey and Batgirl comics i'm like, That's not Cassandra Cain, at all! and Oracle should be there! and Harley isn't even in this team (until recently)! a proper Birds project would be nice, but, like i said before, i'd prefer to have a lot of Babs as Batgirl before then. I don't really read a lot of Batman comics, or Robin/Nightwing/etc. Most of the time i've been following Babs/Cass/Steph. and Harley/Pam/Selina. and Kate.
Wait, are they jumping straight to Damian? So Jason's already been resurrected and Barbara's already been paralyzed?
I don't think they've said what they're doing with the Bat-Family other than Damian being the current Robin. I feel like they'd wanna actually show Jason's Red Hood arc on screen, so he'll probably just be dead and be resurrected later.
Hey guys, can y'all recommend your absolute favorite Superman and/or Batman animated movies? Preferably one on a steaming service (I have them all) but I'll still be able to find anything regardless. I grew up on all of the 90s and early 2000s cartoons and loved them all, including Batman Beyond. Also love My Adventures With Superman, Smallville, and Superman and Lois. Also a big fan of all the Nolan Batman movies, Gunn's Superman, and even Man of Steel and Superman Returns. BvS was hot garbage though. The Nicholson, Devito, and Schwarzenegger Batman movies were bad to okay. I was too young when I saw the Reeves Superman movies to remember them. That's about all I've seen with the characters.
Reads like you're blaming the villains in those movies lol I hope the "Nicholson" Batman isn't in your bad end though
Really only the Shwarzenneger one when I think about the "bad" end. The other two are alright but quite dated and a product of their time lol. I only said the villains because i don't remember the names of the movies and those are very famous actors that everyone knows
Haha I did know B&R because obviously Robin is in that one. And I owned it on VHS and watched it a gazillion times as a kid. I was just too lazy to look up the others and it was easier to lump the 3 together by villain lol
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is god tier of the animated Batman movies. But here are some others I enjoyed to varying levels: -Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (watch the uncut version) -Batman: Under the Red Hood -Batman: Year One -The DCAMU Batman movies; Son of Batman, Batman vs Robin, and Batman: Bad Blood. -Batman: Hush -Batman: The Long Halloween 1+2 -Batman and Harley Quinn
Thanks man! Glad to get an actual answer to my question lol. I'm more of a superman guy but I love both of them so I'll check those out for sure
DC Animated Movie Universe - Wikipedia Here, I think the whole run of animated films is worth watching and these are in chronological order and in the same continuity, so I'd just start from the beginning and go nuts.
That's pretty much what my answer would've been. I'll throw in Catwoman: Hunted even tho he's not really in it Batman Ninja, Gotham by Gaslight, Batman TMNT also fun I think all of the DCAMU is worth a run through if only to provide context to films of characters you actually care about. Quality varies but I think I enjoyed most of them
Sidenote: Being a fan of Barbara Gordon is hard because she's not in a lot of Batman movies. She's more in Young Justice and the Harley Quinn show (and DC Superhero Girls), and of course BTAS. Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown are hardly in anything
I don’t recall if I saw the Catwoman one. I still need to see Ninja and TMNT. Was not a fan of Gaslight.
I'll add Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero and Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman as you should watch everything related to Batman: The Animated Series. And reiterate that Year One is great and Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a lot of fun. Mask of the Phantasm is just a great movie all around.
