any news yet on when the Crisis on Infinite Earths movies hit Max? I've watched all of the DCAMU and it was mostly good, some of the standalone films I've seen tend to be better. Of the Tomorrowverse I've only seen The Long Halloween and Legion of Superheroes and the latter had such a weird animation style. The expectation is that these will eventually tie into the Gunn-iverse, right?
They likely will not tie into Gunn's work at all, though maybe we'll see some glorified cameos of what's to come. These Tomorrowverse projects are the last projects greenlight by the old regime, hence why it feels the Tomorrowverse is already reaching a grand finale even though it only launched in 2020. Crisis Pt 1 will probably hit Max sometime next month, likely shortly before Pt 2's physical release at the end of April. Based on the turnaround for Pt 1, I would expect Pt 2 to hit streaming in October/November, likely timed to promote physical sales of Pt 3 when released. CREATURE COMMANDOS is the first animated project that's canon to James Gunn's DCU. Hopefully with a bigger animation budget than what the Tomorrowverse has had.
isn't Infinite Earths' whole thing that it results in a multiversal reset? which could tie into the Gunn-iverse?
Personally, I see no reason to believe an unrelated animated feature that isn't playing in theaters would in any way be canon and a reboot to the more publicly visible film franchise. It would be like if Marvel used X-Men '97 to reboot the MCU... ...Wait, this might not be a great example.
Surprised @bradsonemanband didn’t post about X-Men 97 in here. He did everywhere else, may as well do it here haha
Meet the New Voices of Batman, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman: Exclusive Very intrigued by the changes they're making to the characters for this show, specifically Harley and Two-Face. Also, very much not ready for an Alfred that looks like Dr. Phil.
uhh if you look up Bad Blood on Max instead of getting the Batman movie you get the Taylor doc. Where'd all the DC animated films go??? i bought Batman Ninja on bluray only because i found it used for four bucks, but now it's not on Max, and neither is Gotham by Gaslight? what the heck? do I have to track down all of these on physical now?
https://screenrant.com/every-dc-movie-max-just-removed-from-its-streaming-service/ Something something profits
Sadly you're gonna have to buy physical or find the stuff again through sketchy ways... Especially with David Zaslav removing things for tax write off purposes.
I dunno about tax writeoffs, but it sounds like it's more cause they hope people will rent or buy them through other means and then they can profit until they feel like putting them back on. A variant of the Disney Vault method.
