I'm very excited now. Until a few weeks ago I knew nothing about her, but since then have ran through all her albums and DAMN is her shit good
I only listened to each album once so far, but Blackheart and REDEMPTION both stood out as "WOW" albums to me
Yeah, there’s loose narratives throughout each album. I have to look back to see what they were, but Blackheart always stood above the rest by having such an emotional core surrounding the narrative of female strength and reclaiming it (climaxing in the Phoenix). The Deep is gut wrenching too, since it was written around the time her father was diagnosed with cancer. And so much of that album really has cool notes of hyperpop/techno mixed with traditional pop tropes. NOISECASTLE III’s work is incredible there and I’m sad she never did another full album with him. I could talk about the album for days haha. Definitely give the trilogy more time to gestate!
the production is wild and the songs meet it at every level, every twist and turn. starts off as the best dance record of the year and then slows down into the best prog r&b album of the year
This good highly recommend the Rochelle Jordan record that came out on Friday to everyone in here too
