Dawn Richard, formerly of Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money (who released the overlooked opus Last Train To Paris in 2010) is now a solo act working on the fringes of dance and R&B, pushing the genres to their limits with her production choices and vocal stylings. Her forthcoming album The Red Era is the conclusion to a trilogy of records that include the excellent 2015 album Blackheart and 2013's Goldenheart, as well as excellent the Armor On EP. The first single from Red Era is "Not Above That," produced by electronic luminary Machinedrum.
Today is fuckin dope for music. Last Train To Paris was really great even though no one talks about it. Going to listen to this after I finish the James Blake record.
I just read that Clark produced Serpentine Fire and it makes so much sense. She sounds so good over it.
