Not sure how I missed this album announcement. All these songs sound so good.

They just announced it this morning actually. Glad it's less than a month from the release date.

Oh I guess that's true. But some of the songs look like they've been out for months and I didn't even know.

Oh yeah, he's been releasing singles for a few months.

Unfortunately this is not hitting me at all like his last one did. Just one listen though. Also drip.

Yeah, not really feeling this on first listen. I appreciate that he always changes up his sound/approach, but this pivot might take a little more time for me to appreciate.

It's already starting to click. A lot of it is really catchy. I guess it's officially out now. I wish more people on this site were fans.

I really love this actually. Need some more time with it for sure but I was pretty worried after reading some responses.

This record is clicking with me a lot faster than We're Not Going Anywhere, which I liked but never loved. I think the jazzy sounds on this one suits his voice really well. I'm fairly certain that Fables will remain my favorite record of his, though.

This didn't click with me at all after 1 listen. I really hope it grows on me.

I've watched that video probably 100 times over the years. One of my favorite covers ever.

This album is definitely a grower.
I wasn't instantly hooked, but it's starting to grab me after more spins.

Naoh's cover is nice, but I love when David ramps up the vocal intensity

I liked this a little more on my 2nd listen. I'm hoping it continues to grow on me.

I just really haven't felt much urge to go back to this. So much good music coming out lately, and this has not grabbed me at all on my first three listens.

Yeah I feel ya. I have a feeling this will never be more than just "ok" for me, which saddens me to say cause I love him.

So far it’s just seemed like an awkward match of artist to sound. He doesn’t sound quite comfortable with the style of music he’s trying to make here, so it’s an odd listen. I also just think it lacks some of the emotional punch of his last few records.
