the hwole roll out has been weird. streamed the album closer on thursday, and then the whole album just a few days later.
i'm into this. sometimes the intros make me think it's a spotify commercial, but then his vocals come in and i'm right back in.
had my first full listen on a walk to work this morning. -i really like care a lot more now that i was able to really listen to the lyrics. -not super into the songs he pulled from the monthly series that are on the first half of this. i feel like they were some ofthe weaker tracks and the remakes don't do a lot for me, at least on first listen -this is super back heavy. all the new songs are great but summertime, lazerbeams, keep trying and the closer are fantastic -the closing lines of pedro and blanco where he dreams about being on his deathbed with his wife, kids and grandkids and then tells himself to put down his guitar and go enjoy being with his wife now gave me chills.
Holy hell I love this so much. I was never a big fan of Pedro or his earlier stuff, but his switch to more electronic/drum machine based music totally has me hooked. He's always been a hell of a songwriter, but for me, this type of music goes so much better with his vibe and I love it.
it's weird that none of the rewards for the kickstarter include getting to see the actual film, unless you have big bucks to afford the premier or private screening levels.
I've never listened to his solo stuff or Pedro the lion, it's always felt like such a huge undertaking... where should I start?
I just want to see him tour with a full band. I know that's more people to pay, but I hope it happens.
