probably my most anticipated of the year now. also think its my favorite album cover/title so far. SONGS Both Hands (Over My Eyes) Oblivion Kept Secrets With You Trouble With Boys Teardrops Little Landslide Someone Else’s Bet Over Again Little Motor New Album “Blanco” | BAZAN trouble with boys destroys me.
Watched a clip from an in-the-works documentary in this guy at a film festival. Where should I start?
Curse Your Branches is a pretty good starting point for his solo material. To me, it's his best album but also most representative of what he's all about. Lots of people will point you towards Pedro The Lion's Control though. It's amazing too, especially if you want something heavier in sound than Branches.
Cool, we're gonna be setting SOMETHING up with him after finals week (next week). Very excited to write about this one and speak with him!
Super excited to hear a newer version of Oblivion. He played it acoustically on his last tour and it floored me.
its out there. doesn't sound like he altered all of the songs, just a few which is kind of a bummer for people who already heard the yearly subs :(
Well, that's disappointing to hear. Still curious how it all sounds together as an album. A lot of the monthly songs struck me as explorations of the same themes - fatherhood, being a professional artist, etc. - and I could see a well-sequenced album making them cohere into a pretty affecting statement.
only real noticeable changes for me are on trouble with boys and with you which were both my favorite songs so its cool to hear em reimagined.
I'm loving this. The changes to the songs are fairly minor sometimes (really love the small additions to "Little Landslides," my favourite of the monthly songs), but this strikes me as such a good album - with a certain flow and an emotional arc - that I don't mind at all. Strange Negotiations was good, but I already like this a lot more.
Gosh I want to hear this thing but can't find it any where, guess I'll just suck it up and wait for vinyl to come in.
