I remember not really caring about or liking DC until I saw the MTV unplugged performance on tv. I was mind blown as a teenager watching it. Great performance and the crowd was great.
Shade isn't a favorite, it's too one-note throughout, but there are some great songs for sure. Still better than Dusk and Summer
Agreed. It sounds like it's trying a little too hard to sound like early Dashboard.. almost like they wanted to get something out quick to please the fans who were disappointed with "Dusk & Summer." "Widow's Peak" is a damn good song though
Great interview. Glad he seems so passionate about the new music.. though I was hoping they'd continue on the path where Alter The Ending left off. So excited though!
Same with Alter The Ending.. "Get Me Right," "Water and Bridges," etc.. It certainly never seemed like he stopped caring about lyrics
Happy to read he's doing a new album. Glad he's embracing the earlier Dashboard sound. I liked Twin Forks and wonder if he'll continue that band, but Heart.Beat.Here brings me back to his early solo work.
i wish i snagged tickets to the SLC show before they sold out, but here's the setlist from the first night of their new tour lastnight: Dashboard Confessional Setlist at Paradise Rock Club, Boston
I'll still ride for Dashboard. I prefer their first three acoustic joints to any of the full band stuff. Spinning Swiss Army for the first time in forever. Good stuff
New covers EP is cool. Exactly what you want a stopgap covers EP to be. Cool song selection. Makes them his own and doesn't sound like a copycat.
