Has anyone mentioned the new song they've been doing on this tour? It's called Heart Beat Here, and it's actually pretty friggin' good:
They were incredible in Philly last night! Played a new song called rest your heart.. It sounded like twin forks but with more classic dashboard belting in the bridge. I liked it. He took a lot of older songs and reworked them for full band it was pretty awesome. The sharp hint of new tears felt like a furthers seems forever song.. Band was incredibly tight, go see them if you have the opportunity!
YEah. It broke my heart to see so many people empty out of a non-filled PNC Center when I saw them, but Chris didn't seem affected whatsoever. That guys still puts so much heart into his performance.
Heart Beat Here was amazing last night. Chris was amazing. Atlanta should've had a much larger crowd, venue wasn't even 1/4 full. But everyone knew every word.
Dusk and Summer came out 10 years ago today. I know a lot of people don't love that record, but it means a lot to me. I wrote a retrospective piece about it for the site. Dashboard Confessional - Dusk and Summer • chorus.fm
I cannot get down with the second half of that statement at all but we agree on the first. Haha. Maybe predictable that the album where he features Adam Duritz would end up my favorite
Maaannn, what's wrong with Alter the Ending??! But yeah, that Duritz collaboration is like prototypical "how to write a perfect summer song" shit. One of my favorites for sure.
Huh, "Until Morning," "Belle of the Boulevard," and the title track are all up there with my favorite DC tracks. Granted, they aren't as outstanding as the best stuff on Dusk.
"Get Me Right" is a far away favorite for me on Alter. But I'm one of the lemming masses who hold TPTYHCTFTM (what an acronym) as his best. Pretty much enjoy every single album, though.
semi-related, that album is almost old enough to drive. explains how much gray hair i have pretty succinctly and i hate it.
Dusk and Summer being 10 is definitely weird to me. Sam's Town turning 10 later this year will also be very surreal.
