I’d go The Moon Is Down based by far based on my listens alone. I discovered Chris/Dashboard with Swiss Army and Places came out not too long after. It felt pretty cool to discovered that he had done Further Seems forever and hear him pull off his vocal stylings as well full band as he had solo. I think it also helped influence a full band sound into Dashboard.
I remember Chris said in Spring 2020 that the album was done but they were shelving it until they could tour again. Surprised there's been no single/album announcement with his tour starting in a few weeks.
Chris will be on the next episode of Matt Pryor’s Vagrant Records podcast talking about the history of Dashboard. I’m assuming it’ll be out next week?
Half of Crooked Shadows was good, the other half horrible in my opinion. With the lockdown and his accident everything got pushed back, but you’d figure now might be a good time. He seemed hyped on it. After listening to Chris on Brian Fallon’s Sittin around at Home he strikes me as a odd guy doesn’t need to Res lease music to be ok, and would rather wait until things work for him.
Out of curiosity I checked out some DC vinyl online to see what was available and those urban outfitter pressings of AMAMABAS and D&S have doubled, if not more, in price. Wild. Still need Shade on vinyl.
Been on a DC kick so I listened to the full band and acoustic versions this morning. My 2nd favorite DC album, mainly bc it has the two versions lol. Water and Bridges is so damn good.
