I just picked up the tour variant! I'm still waiting for my Places You Have Come To Fear the Most record to arrive though, which is a bummer. USPS says it should be here on Saturday, but we'll see.

 

Yeah the cover, back cover, CD image and lyric sheets are all from a Tyco slot car track set.

Though oddly, it's not the same slot car set he was playing with in the Screaming Infidelities video.

 

Places splatter vinyl has arrived and it is beautiful. Already regularly spinning.

Decided to order the UK / Indie version for Swiss Army Romace. Hoping it will turn out equally as nice (as below).

Does anyone know whether it's been hinted as to whether A Mark, A Mission will be reissued as part of this series? I assume it's late to be included in the 'early days.' I somehow missed the repressing a few years ago but haven't heard good things about the quality and therefore don't really want to pay big for those that are still listed online.

 

I think this release series is probably everything before A Mark, A Mission. I expect some of the EPs next, but I don’t think we’ll get another pressing of that, unfortunately. At least not right now.

I have a copy of the blue pressing and it’s serviceable, for sure. Not a knock-out pressing in terms of quality, and they definitely should have split that one over two discs (which is how it was presented when I preordered) but I’m still glad to have it and play it semi-regularly.

 

I wish he was pressing the 3 early EPs as well

 

I may be tempted then to get the Urban Outfitters blue; I did think that myself.

I know they replied to people on Instagram and said the EPs would be pressed (So Impossible and Summer’s Kiss at least)

I didn’t order Swiss Army Romance since I found an original pressing a few years ago for cheap. When is that MTV unplugged one supposed to be coming?

 

Gosh. Unplugged on vinyl would be amazing.

is that basically just red? So different to the mock up they showed (which I posted above and got purely for that colour) - either way I’ll have it on vinyl finally so all is not lost.

 

The tour variant was actually pretty cool. I'm really glad I got that one.

 

I got the other variant (the green one) and it’s insanely cool.

 

I found the record store variant of Places... yesterday- it just has an orange blob that looks like an egg yolk, lol. It’s so random and I can’t help but laugh when I look at it. My husband asked if the album had anything to do with eggs when i showed it to him.

 

The splatter variant is kind of cool, but my wife said it looked like someone threw up and now I can’t get that out of my brain. Haha
