And Shade was a million times better than Dusk

 

Dusk and Summer is easily my least favorite album of his, it feels too made-for-tv or made-for-radio for me, slick production, etc. I like when he has his slight edge and imperfections.

 

Alter the Ending, Dusk and Summer, and Twin Forks are my three favorite albums of his. Shade is his worst.

There was nothing that even resembled a single on that album, so that hurt it.

 

Twin Forks is amazing. I love Alter the ending as well, especially the acoustic version.

 

I prefer the electric version, but some of the songs are cool acoustic.

 

And some of the songs are almost literally the same on both versions of ATE haha

Interesting how Carrabba is just now hitting the 'metalcore band member' phase of his style right now.

 

The guy hasn't aged a day since his 20s, damn.

He's aged like, -5 years. Like, he just looks unnatural sometimes.

Sorry very late to this conversation, but I think the reason for the huge drop in sales was that Dusk was his last album on a major label. Dusk was put out by Interscope, Shade was Vagrant. Vagrant didn't do any favors with marketing, wasn't even a single out.

 

Spoiler alert: No it doesn't.

Bottom line if he doesn't use dashboard tuning it isn't going to sound like old Dashboard ha

I like the song. Vocal isn't great, but it's not bad. I'm sure this is the kind of song that will sound great on record.

 

I mean, it's acoustic...

 

Man, I winced every time the chorus came in on that new song.
