Yeah, Bend was the first song I wanted to check out, pretty good. His voice isn't working for me on some of these but we'll see
These are so good. So many memories being brought back with these songs. So many long drives and holidays with these albums as the soundtrack.
He’s so interesting. He’s talked a few times in recent years about label influence on those albums, and about how he prefers the stripped down acoustic stuff from DC. But then when he decided it was time to make another Dashboard album, he made Crooked Shadows.
That’s the one that needs a reimagining! I’ve actually grown to love that album, but it could have been more than it was.
yeah i need to get used to the way his voice is now on top of these old songs lol as lovers go and carry this picture sound great though
Dusk and Summer (the song) gets me every time. The switch from “you” to “I” is cool here. Where’s the vinyl??? :D
i think mark is probably my favorite dashboard album and i really enjoyed this. my favorites on the original like morning calls, bend and not break, ghost of a good thing, and several ways all translated really well
Started with A Mark and couldn't get through it. This was a cool idea in theory, but his voice just isn't what it used to be.
I think it stuck out most on Hands Down (which already has a well-known acoustic version), I'm kinda used to it now that I've started Dusk. He's never exactly been pristine and he's still hitting some of the more powerful notes anyway
The switch from "you" to "me" in Dusk & Summer is throwing me. It's such a simple thing, but I think the way that song is on the original version of the album makes it almost uncomfortably universal and relatable in a way that this one isn't.
