i like it a lot actually! it works as an acoustic song with that string section in the chorus. yeah I like it a lot.

I listened to the version from a long time ago but I don't remember....i think this is different @Craig Manning

yeah, not into Heart Beat Here as much as the other 2.

 

Yeah I think this is definitely a re-record. I remember being iffy about the vocals on the old one. This one sounds great. Don't think there were strings either

 

I am very much 3 for 3 on this album. These are seriously killer

 

This album is totally 3/3 for right now and I absolutely adore how all 3 songs are SO diverse. I'm impressed that all 3 distinct songs are great in their own right

 

Pre-ordered the clear/blue vinyl. Not a bad price considering what I dropped on Alkaline Trio recently haha. Excited to hear the rest of this album. Belong is just okay. I like that its different, but I hope the rest is more like HBH and WF.

 

Belong is the one I've listened to the most. Idk, just love Chris' voice in that context.

 

I'm obsessed with Heart Beat Here. My favorite DC song since Stolen.

Also, is it confirmed that the version of Belong that Cash Cash put out will be the same thats on the album?

 

I haven't seen it confirmed, but I am certainly curious as well

 

It would be kind of weird if the version of Belong we heard is on the album considering that track isn’t an available track on the pre-order and its listed as a separate single on Apple Music.

The Lindsay Sterling feature is predictably bad. The album has some straight up Imagine Dragon melody duds. It doesn’t work.

And a few good songs. However, I consider it a massive letdown after ‘Alter the Ending.’ I just don’t like enough of the songs and there’s only 9.

 

Dang that’s so disappointing to hear. Especially after him talking about the process and wanting to get things right. Now I’m questioning my preorder hahaha.

 

There’s four (imo) huge standouts. Only one of which was released so far. So if you love the other two and then like those 4 you’re golden.

Bummer to hear it's a step down from ATE. Probably my favorite DC album at this point.
Enjoyed We Fight, didn't care for Belong, and HBE is nostalgia, haha.

 

Heart Beat Here is good, but I much preferred the live, solo-acoustic versions I saw at Taste of Chaos in 2016 and when I saw them in Philly last year. I haven't checked out Belong yet though.

Edit: Checked "Belong" out. Not a fan. I mean it's a good pop song, and I could see it introducing Chris to a younger generation that wasn't there for Dashboard's heyday or to people that dig Cash Cash but never got into Dashboard. Good on him if that ends up happening.

 

"About Us" is classic Dashboard goodness.

 

Definitely same version. Looking at the iTunes pre-order for the album, the artist for "Belong" is listed as "Dashboard Confessional & Cash Cash."

 

Well at least I like it! All 3 songs are pretty damn different from each other, looking forward to a diverse album if that's already 1/3 of the track list

 

FYI, there are live versions of "Just What To Say" on YouTube if anyone is interested. Gives me Julien Baker vibes.
