Dashboard Confessional – “Here’s to Moving On” Video

What a good first single for his new album. Some classic DC feel with some nice touches.

Thematically, moving on from his motorcycle accident and getting back out there is really fitting to the song, so good on the director and Chris. That orange hat looked ridiculous how it was worn though. Oh well, the important stuff is he’s healthy, and recovered and making new music. I’ll be checking out the new record in February.

I shouldn't be sticking my thoughts to the comments as much before watching/listening hahah - the video is really good and the whole time I was anticipating the orange hat to enter the screen ;d (I was still surprised that it was indeed worn in a peculiar way haha). Definitely love the song!

 

Great song! Nice video. Not sure I would’ve thought twice about the hat without reading this thread first. When I saw the orange helmet I was expecting him to somehow put that on in a goofy way lol. Glad it was just a hipster beanie situation.
It’s been a while since dashboard has been in my rotation. Ready for some new music!

 

Really good song and video. Sorry for the hat spoiler. It just looked so out of place and try hard. Maybe it’s sentimental in some way. Or the only hat he could find was child sized. Credit to the nod of the get well notes, and covering the bike, getting back to writing with pages and playing with the band. Also, Chris looked a little more like Chris from yesteryear in this video.

Great song. I literally couldn't stop laughing with that Hat. I love Chris, but my goodness, that was funny. Strong Hipster attempt and I am uncertain as to why.

 

Love this song. Cant believe he wrote this before the accident, it sounds like it'd be after. Really excited to hear this record when it comes out.

 

I know he had a record ready to go pre-accident, but is this one song for sure recorded before it? Definitely very fitting.
