Final DLC (which is supposed to be the end of Dark Souls entirely) on Tuesday. Can't wait, but I would be shocked if there wasn't a Dark Souls 4 within 5 years (though I highly doubt Miyazaki would be involved, so meh)
Just got the season pass. Haven't played the first DLC yet so I'm excited to dive in and do them both.
I played the new DLC for a half hour this morning, it's pretty hard. Don't think I'll get to play tonight which is a bummer
I read that a lot of the new DLC is heavily resistant to fire/dark so I don't really want to go through on my pyro but I'm out of respecs and I really don't feel motivated to go through the game again.
120. I sprinted past the big downhill staircase full of giant dudes...no way I'm taking all of them out. Just pushed through to the swamp.
Man I cleared that area and it took fucking forever and I lost so many souls. The swamp area is also fucking massive, cleared that and unlocked the secret ladder. That's probably where I'll stop till Saturday
Yeah, he was tough. The secret ladder is where you unlock the shortcut to the bonfire by the swamp. If you want to know how to get the ladder, there's an engraving on the wall that says "show your humanity." if you use a white birch branch in the swamp, you turn into a humanity ghost. Float up to the engraving and a ladder falls down.
Just beat the second boss I LOVE that they brought the Old Monk mechanic back from Demons Souls and you get to fight another player as the boss. I know Dark Souls 2 sort of did this, but not as well. Really taking my time with this DLC, just happy it's longer than AoA. Anyone know how many bosses total? I'm assuming 3
Well I beat the DLC (Minus the secret optional boss, which I'll do tomorrow). I liked this one a lot more than AoA. Some really fun bosses, some extremely frustrating moments, the final area's atmosphere is everything I've wanted since the final area of Demon's Souls (with just slightly more to do in) This was teased as the final chapter, and it'd bring everything together and provide some big answers. These aren't readily apparent, but Dark Souls never is. I'm excited to really dig into it now that I'm finished. This is my favorite franchise, including Demon's Souls and Bloodborne (and not including Dark Souls II, which I consider fanfiction since Miyazaki wasn't directly involved). I think it's a good thing that they're putting an end to it for now and we won't see it run into the ground. Super excited for what's next, I would consider Miyazaki one of the greatest storytellers in videogames so I'll go with him wherever.
The dragons in this are so much more intimidating and jaw dropping than any other game series with them.
Is the optional boss the hardest of the entire series? I can't even get it to 75% health with multiple summons. Fucking hell
Doesn't sound like fun. I'll attempt it with my buddy who's insanely good at these games but I have no expectations of downing him.
As a pure melee character, it's a fucking nightmare. If you get summons who are casters / have Dorothy's Gnawing, you have a shot. But very few people do magic builds in Dark Souls 3.
