they fucking showed up with that Gallo scene, my sweet lord. dude had more death markers than a body bag but I didn't think the kill would go that hard
I almost got a feeling that post-credit with The Punisher was added on later after they greenlit his streaming special so they can conveniently write him out of that predicament.
Being realistic, re-introducing the Defenders is challenging not just because of where they ended up in their respective shows, but also because of how much time has passed in-universe since then. Jessica is relatively easy and probably the most likely since Season 3 only ended with her staying in NYC and turning Alias over to Malcolm. Did she take it back? Start working for him? Start something new? Luke, he could still be in charge of Harlem's Paradise. Maybe he changed, maybe he didn't. I can't see him appearing without addressing that loose end though in some way, because it was a very big deal. As much as it pains me to say it, Danny is unquestionably the most impossible to gracefully bring back right now. When we last saw him, he was in Asia with Ward, wielding chi guns. He can't just show up without explanation, especially if it's with the Iron Fist. This extends to Colleen as well, to a degree, because she had the Iron Fist last we saw her, so if she still has it after all these years, that raises questions about Danny, which they could conceivably use Colleen to lay groundwork for, but I think it's too much to do here. As for the other supporting characters, I think Claire and Misty could both return without much explanation, and they could also be used to lay groundwork for both Luke and Danny, should they choose. That said, I think Jessica is the most obvious starting point. Heck, maybe enough time has passed for Trish to get out of the Raft on good behavior!
Conversely, especially for Iron Fist, reintroducing them can lay the groundwork for maybe like a prequel series and maybe rehab the character. And wow I really don’t remember the end of these series lol
I really don't ever want to see Trish again lol I think they did a good enough job rehabbing Danny in IFS2 that I'd actually be pretty pleased to see him pop back up? but also if they just brought Colleen back and she was the Iron Fist going forward I would be absolutely fine with it
I might have to agree. Rewatching the show has really crystallized for me how absolutely self-absorbed and toxic Trish was, and how her turn in Season 3 was kind of inevitable. But hey, maybe her time in the Raft changed her! Mellowed her out. I'd like to see her be Hellcat for realsies.
Just finished the season and aside from the bank robbery episode I feel this was pretty great. I love this world and cast so much, wish it became the main pillar of the current MCU. Punisher, Red and Spidey.
don't know if I remember the episode that well but as a character overall I could not stand her lol. I like the show a lot but apart from Jessica and Malcolm almost every character is so unlikable
It is and it isn't, because now rewatching and knowing what happens, I can see the beginning of Trish's toxicity, even in Season 1. Season 2 feels less of a swerve and more of a natural escalation. It was fun... until it wasn't.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Will Be a "Resistance Tale" Great article/interview if you want some bts stuff about the show and especially the overhaul.
Charlie Cox disliked episode 5 and pushed against it being made. https://collider.com/daredevil-born-again-episode-5-criticisms-charlie-cox/
This is misleading because his main criticism is that he doesn't believe a bank heist is realistic in the modern era. Come on, Justin. Do better.
I was just talking to my coworker today about that episode because we work at a bank and I was saying how it’s probably the most accurate portrayal of a bank vault I’ve ever seen in media
Cox went to say how the episode isn't his favorite and said that it was his "least favorite of the episodes, and I kind of pushed back against it as much as I felt was possible." I don’t see the point in splitting hairs over this.
Ep 5 was alright. Tone wise it was a bit goofy compared to the rest. Basically a side quest episode for Matt
