Season 1 it felt earned, because it was pretty much a season-long origin story, and in Defenders it made sense because Matt made a promise to Foggy and Karen.
I'm not saying it didn't make sense in the storyline, it was just tiring to me. I hated waiting in season 1 even when the show first came out heh
It's always been a problem with these shows, they're for some reason scared of actually letting the respective title characters suit up. It was particularly bad in the Punisher series, the showrunners seemed to be constantly trying to avoid Frank actually becoming the Punisher. The show became trapped in a constant origin story, with Frank becoming the Punisher and then giving it up and then becoming the Punisher again and then giving it up, etc... it's the same thing with Daredevil.
I was talking about a certain group of whiny assholes on the internet that cry about it. I was never implying that people can't do both.
I actually read multiple posts theorizing that it's Muse who sprays it on his costume which is interesting because it seems to be based on absolutely nothing I can gather.
10/10 best episode of the season. Immediate improvement in the writing with this being the first entirely post-overhaul episode.
