I cannot even properly express how much I hate that song. Almost turned the album off. Glad I didn't, because the rest is great.

 

whats so bad about it? its a drugged out tripped up psychedelic track that picks right up from xxx (even references a line from the first song of xxx in the title), its experimental but his flow is as sharp as ever. i just cant imagine knowing danny, fucking with danny, hearing that song and being like "nah." its not an outlier in terms of his style or the style of the album.

 

I didn't like XXX either, if that helps. Haha

Hah. I respected that he had a unique approach. But the songcraft just wasn't there 'til Old, imo. He merges the off-kilter and the songwriting much better on this than on XXX, imo.

the hybrid is the only one thats really good

 

the hybrid is good and the detroit state of mind tapes all have some good material on them

 

yeah definitely some worthwhile stuff in the detroit state of mind series but none of those whole projects do it for me. browntown pretty good too
