oh yeah this instrumental is glorious i want to sing on top of these so badly, its just ingrained into my head at this point haha
everyone should do a mental exercise to envision what tillian's melodies would sound like if he received these demos
Carl Barker is probably the best overall, but Strawberry Swisher pt.2 is the nicest sounding song to me. That's probably the song that made me a DGD superfan - great to finally hear an instrumental version of it, because there never was a demo included in all the ones Zac released all those years ago.
Really debating if I should spring for the Ultra VIP, or just get the normal VIP. Ultra is $130, VIP is $70, & Normal Tickets are $30. Is it worth the extra $$$ to meet DGD and attend the Q&A session? Especially given what we know about Tilian & Co. as people, I feel like it'd be kinda awkward.
I've seen them like 5 times and never had any desires to do any of the VIP... but some people get off on meeting their fav. bands so if that's you, then go for it.
Sound Rink sucks. Will never do business with them again. Only reason I’d want to meet the band is to get all my vinyl signed but at this point 9 or 10 albums to sign is kinda ridiculous. If you get the Ultra one, you could sell the goodies that come with it and make some money back.
I just got regular VIP so at least I get early entry. Idk, kinda wish I got Ultra so I could make an day out of my first ever DGD Headliner, but my parents would kill me if I dropped $150 on a show. I'm already super stressed out trying to decide if this a show where I wanna stay at barricade and record the whole time, or go pit and possibly lose my spot.
I still don't know if this counts as DGD-adjacent enough to be posted here, but whatever: Nova Charisma's second ~ExPoSiTiOn~ will be released at some point before December 14th.
Definitely DGD adjacent. Though I haven’t listened to them yet. Also ANYONE here who hasn’t listened to new Royal Coda needs to rectify that
The first Nova Charisma release was pretty solid, I’ll check out this one too. Totally agreed though that the Royal Coda album is fantastic, any DGD fan will find lots to enjoy.
mildly DGD related: y'all should check out the When We Was Kids EP that dropped today. They're local friends and some of the most talented musicians I've ever seen, they've been kicking it live in Chicago for years but this is their first official release. any fan of DGD/DGD related bands and The Mars Volta should get down with it.
