only song on AS1 I don't like is "Honey Revenge", which is fucking awful

 

I like the song but not the lyrics.

 

Not crazy about Mess’s “Your little baby’s a slut” line either.

 

I thought it was "Your little baby's a slob" wasn't it?

I’m not exactly sure if that changes the context entirely? And that’s a genuine question.

 

I just took it to literally mean this person's child is literally messy and unhygenic, like most babies.

 

while I understand certain lyrics raising eyebrows, I don't read into anything Jon Mess has written since, well, Deathstar tbh. man just mashes syllables together with a vague aim at rhyming them and no intention (and it rules)

Tillian on the other hand? writes with intention, and that intention is wherever possible sneaking his shitty outdated views on everything into otherwise good songs. fuck Tillian tbh

 

Forgot how much some of these songs fucking rip, finally a way to listen without having to suffer through Jonny's singing/lyrics lol.

 

DBMII is great

 

If only there was a version with just Mess vocals

 

Jon Mess sounds pretty horrible on DMBII too. I have always loved the instrumentals of this album, so I'm excited to listen without Jonny or Jon.

 

Probably my favorite DGD album. Best instrumentals in my mind. So funky and jivey.

I wonder if this will be the “side b” to Head Hunter they mentioned before or if it will be the first single for the new album.

 

Pretty sure it’s the other song recorded with Head Hunter, Tilian tweeted about it recently. Regardless, these guys are a fucking machine

 

Not a fan of the new song or much of DGD Mothership-now, still bought the 7” and everything else they ever release because I am a disaster... even DGD I don’t love is solid.

 

Pretty much in the same boat with all of this haha.

I do think Mothership is their best with Tilian, though, and one of their best albums overall.

 

Okay I don’t think I like this song overall but there were parts of it that I thought were kinda sick but overall I just applaud them for actually surprising me for once.

 

Happiness always gonna be my fav but DBM2 is something else instrumentally, and Jon is sick on it

 

Yeah, song isn’t all that great (maybe 6.5/10), but I’m still waiting for one from them that doesn’t make me want to pick up a guitar and learn it the second I hear it!

 

It's fine. Their stuff is starting to all blend together so I'm ready for more curveballs in the upcoming album(s).
