Jonny has legitimately the shittiest fans ever. So I guess that explains why he’s still here. But still. Fuck
Given the way Jonny has spoken about women in the past, I’m not at all surprised. Not one bit. Also he’s an all around piece of shit, sober or not, and everyone already knew that. This latest news just makes any defense of him inexcusable.
Is anyone *really* shocked? Guy has always been a total sack. I'm sure this is unfortunately just the tip of the iceberg.
Wow that is some real fucking terrifying stuff. Not that I needed a reason not to listen to Johnny era stuff again(the other eras far surpass it), but now it’s definitely never being listened by me again. Scumbag
Is there any info on how much the band knew? I couldn’t bring myself to read the allegations so idk when it happened but i know will said once that the band as a whole was outcast for a while during the dbm2 era because they were seen as supporting jonny. will specified in that interview that it was because of jonny’s drug use but obviously these allegations are putting everything in a different context
I believe both of these girlfriends were post-DGD. I know at least one of them was as recently as like, a year and a half ago.
Tbh he shouldn't have been allowed into a band with young fans straight after the MacBook thing, let alone everything that followed. Even if they didn't know about anything else, they still knew he was manipulative.
I kind of agree with that but raping someone with a knife is a completely different caliber of fucked up vs scamming people for drug money
Just saying they knew he was a bad person, what's not known is how much of a bad person they knew he was.
I can understand the band giving him a second chance. People do deserve a chance to change. It's very easy to blame a lot of it on the drugs because, well...when was he clean? However, at this point, it's very clear that it's not the drugs, it's him. So into the trash he goes and into the trash he should stay. Anyone who continues to work with him or produce his records can go right on top of him as far as I'm concerned.
Honestly I would like Jonny Craig not to be mentioned in this Dance Gavin Dance thread anymore at all. He has been out for over five years now. Let's all move on and not go there anymore.
I don’t think we should because it’s been 5 years (been longer since Kurt was out, and I’m still down to talk about Kurt albums)... but yeah. I think in light of what has come out recently, it’s probably time to take Jonny out of the conversation.
100% agreed. The Kurt albums are my favorite ones, and we have no reason to stop discussing them. We have every reason to remove Jonny from this discussion. EDIT: My personal preference on the albums has no bearing. Jonny's actions do -- which is the ultimate reason why I'm suggesting we remove him from discussion.
Honestly, we probably should have awhile ago. Kurt and Tilian are basically a tie for me. I’m eternally depressed that my Happiness vinyl came warped and couldn’t be replaced because SRC sold every copy they had. Haha Kurt is great though. Dude seems to have the worst luck with bands though.
Tillian era is my favorite, followed by Kurt. I can't listen to anything anything Jonny sings on anymore.
He’s still a big part of the band’s history. And I don’t see the issue with discussing hopefully what is his final downfall.
