Where'd you guys see that? That makes me so happy. I remember reading Mess saying how long they go on really depends on how well these records do. Must've been really happy with mothership's success.

Mothership was amazing, so I'm glad it did well. I was just wondering the other day if they were gonna make another album soon

Seriously may sound weird, but I am Deathstar excited. What I mean by that is Mothership was such a good album and enjoyable to learn like DBM was to me when I was younger, that it has me looking forward to the next release greatly. I remember the hype being very real when they were heading for LP2 and I haven't loved the Tilian stuff until Mothership.

What you think about Deathstar? Did it live up to the hype you had?

Hopefully Summertime Gladness is indicative of their new direction, i.e. saxophone solos on every track.

Here's hoping this one is more Happiness and less Mothership

Actually, no haha. And every release since it I've loved about 4 or 5 songs on each album, liked a few others then, meh for the rest. Each vocalist has a handful of tracks I really love overall, but at this point I think Tilian has the most in my book.

Anyone listened to the EP Tilian released yesterday? His vocals on Patient :hearteyes::hearteyes:

Still need to check that out. His vocals on the new I the Mighty song are some of my favorite from him in a long time btw

I could totally go for mothership pt 2. That said I trust them completely to do whatever they want.

Mothership is too long, is Mess' worst lyrical performance, and has Flossie Dickey Bounce. Could never be my fav

Mess's worst is Acceptance Speech/Whatever I Say imo.

I don't even know how to begin ranking Jon's lyrics in terms of "worst" lmao, it's all so absurd that I find it hard to really judge their "quality" relative to each other. Vocally he's definitely improved substantially since Tilian joined the band.

He does have a lot of absurd parts. At the same time, I can't act like I'm never impressed with how he works it into a song or that he's had some lines I could quote at any time.

Oh yeah definitely. I guess what I mean is he usually manages to make even the most absurd lines part of the charm of the song, at least imo

The absurd stuff was usually a highlight for me, up until Mothership.

"Riding a rhino pico de gallo"
    "Cocaine cringefest" (X10)
"A penis wide that towers high is cumming at your feet/The story's old, the butthole full of cancer spreading meat"

like come on man, this shit is awful

    ALL HAIL PEAGLE Prestigious

Occasionally he'll have a line or more that comes across as really well thought out

"I'm waiting to see if it comes to me, or / if it's tied to a safe that just hit the seafloor"

What makes these more or less awful than the average Mess lyrics?

I think mothership has some of jon's best but would agree it's probably his worst overall lyrically. There's a difference between nonsense and just silly/goofy and he went hard on the silly this time. That said, he sounds incredible and I think the length is perfect.
