Anyone have some song recs for me from the latest 3 albums?

 

I'd honestly say to just listen through Mothership. Buuuuut, if you want a few individual songs I'd recommend Inspire the Liars, We Own the Night and Turn Off the Lights, I'm Watching Back to the Future Pt. II.

 

Top 5 IMO is:

1) We Own The Night
2) Betrayed By The Game
3) Inspire The Liars
4) Death of a Strawberry
5) Stroke God, Millionaire

Acceptance Speech - Tilian's first with DGD - is the bands 2nd worst in my personal opinion and I rarely go back & visit it save for a handful of songs.

 

Also, pretty cool vinyl coming out in September

 

Acceptance speech was p good and mothership was solid, IG is trash, don't listen.

 

What is this IG slander?!

 

IG is not trash

 

It has We Own The Night, Stroke God, On the Run, Something New, Death of a Strawberry, and Variation which are all solid.

 

Them first 4 songs start that album out so solid, tbh I think it's all solid till around The Cuddler or so

He made really bad nonarguements about it when he meant to say hes a purist and doesn't like any core music from the 2000s onward pretty much. I just hated that it was stagnant, Tili bored or grated my ears, and Mess didn't bring it.

TBH if I was reading this thread and trying to get into Tilian DGD I'd be so confused right now lol

 

Mothership > IG > Acceptance Speech. I don't know how you could rank it any other way.

 

IG beats Mothership by a hair for me. Mothership is 2-3 songs too long.

 

See, I like Mothership a hair more than IG, but I think IG is far better than AS.

 

the production on AS is where i take offense, Tilian sounds like an overprocessed robot. at no point is there not two layers on his vocals. Mothership is easily HIS best performance.

 

Acceptance Speech is for sure the worst Tilian album. I have a hard time picking between Instant Gratification and Mothership, but I do agree that Mothership is TIlian's best performance.

 

AS is way, way, wayyyyy better than IG, even with the awful production.

 

Mothership > IG > AS

But all of them are great
