It's really the simple fact that his demeanor, look, and movements in that video show that they think they are onto some fuego tracks hahaha. For me it was kinda like when you light the whole book of matches and it's shiny/bright for a few seconds, but then all that's left is a charred bundle of sticks fizzled out. Sir Jonny Craig ladies and gentleman.

 

Also the fact that this is, what his (fourth?), "comeback" album??

Kurt's new project with Brandon Ewing (ex-Chon) and Ben Rosett (Strawberry Girls) just dropped its first single... it's GOOD.

 

Its basically those two bands put together with vocals hahah

Its awesome!!!!!!!! His inflection's really weird though, he's never sounded like this before

 

They've said D'Angelo and other neo-soul artists were a huge influence on their sound, and his vocals have a VERY strong D'Angelo influence... interesting decision to change up his vocals that much, personally I love it.

 

Yeah, it just further proves the Kurt is the most versatile artists of the big 3

Listened to the new Slaves song. Band still sucks IMO.

 

Definitely enjoyed that. Still bummed that he and ALLB had a falling out, but I'm glad to see the direction of this new project

 

This Eternity Forever song is cool. Interesting vocal approach for Kurt, and his high range sounds cool. The instrumental is kind like, dreamy to listen to. I like this a lot.

 

Not what I expected that to sound like at all. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it as much as some of you seem to. Still excited to see what else they have up their sleeves.

 

Full album is coming out April 21st I think it said. Either the 20th or the 21st

 

Excited to listen.

 

Dang I really liked that. Kurt did a pretty good job with his new inflection. Though I wonder how it will sound in a live setting.

 

Musicianship was on point. Wasn't feeling those vocals.

 

yeah i don't think kurt's released a bad album since death star. dude just gets music.

 

it sounds more like polyphia than chon to me, which isn't a bad thing! the guitarist/bassist on this, was a fill in bassist for CHON on the super chon bros. tour, he was really good but didn't end up being a permanent member. which is a bummer, i like him more than the other guy they had for the last few shows. but i'm stoked that he started this project, cause it's sounding pretty awesome and i like kurt's approach for this one! reminds me of the funky parts of happiness

 

Figured you guys would appreciate this Blue Swan Records poster I picked up at the Sianvar show last night

 

My friend went last night to that show and sent me a bunch of vids- looked awesome. If you remember seeing a 5'4 girl with pink hair- that was her lol.

 

I may have actually seen her haha... hard to remember for sure though, I talked with quite a few people. Including Joe Arrington a lot after the set, he's such a nice guy!
