Doom and Gloom is among my fav Tilian songs. Along with Stroke God, and now Deception.

"Demo Team" never stood out to me in a bad way at all. AS flows really well and doesn't have many bad moments if you ignore the lyrics, which is necessary for all their stuff anyway.

Are people just put off by the overtly auto-tuned Tilian vocals? Seems like a very intentional effect for that song's mood.

Yeah I actually like Demo Team. All of AS I enjoy just not a fan of the production.

I don't really like a chunk of AS tbh - from Honey Revenge to The Jiggler get very few plays from me anymore. Only really visit tracks 3, 4, 5 & 6 regularly!

don't like AS really at all except for those three songs I mentioned. Demo Team and the similar Carve are really bad imo

I've warmed to both Carve and Thug City from DBM2 since they started playing them live a while back. Carve has some great Mess lyrics IMO ("ocean of replicas" line).

Won't be able to rank Mothership until a couple of months have passed. It's too soon and in the honeymoon phase still.

I can't stop listening to it. I think it's Tilian's best effort. I loved the way he pushed his sound. Jon sounds consistent. He hasn't sounded "bad" to me ever. He got better and better with each release and has plateaued with greatness right as the Tilian era started.

Happiness is the only Kurt/Will record, S/T is Kurt and Mess I believe.

Ranking-wise, Mothership is nestled comfortably in there with DBM, DBM2 and AS. S/T is #1, Happiness is #2, IG is last, but those 4 in the middle are totally interchangeable.

Deception is starting to be my go-to song.

Yeah Deception's my go-to song, if I want a song with a really good beginning and end but trash, off-putting lyrics in the middle ;-p

Exactly how I feel. I wanna rank it as no. 1 but I'm not sure if that's accurate once the novelty wears off.

Really digging this so far. Definitely the most I've liked one of their albums since Happiness.

I also will say I've really loved the three songs they've done that are easy going with Tilian in control of the vocals. They've done one on each album with him (Honey Revenge, Death Of A Strawberry, Exposed). Shows some range in their writing.

  18. DBM1, Happiness, and Mothership are my 3 favorite DGD albums. S/T and IG have a handful of great songs. I never go back to DBM2 or AS. I probably need to give S/T another full listen since a lot of people seem to like that one.

Been listening to this album all week and loving it. Deception, Inspire the Liars, and Betrayed by the Game are my favorites. Petting Zoo Justice and Chocolate Jackalope are the only tracks I don't really care for.

Just heard the "Since 2005 I've been livin' a lie, not even a man, just a cat in disguise" line in Chocolate Jackalope. Jesus Christ lol.

Mothership basically turns into a comedy album for 2 tracks there.

I love PZJ, I'm surprised more people don't. After the intro, the guitar lead Will plays is awesome. And even though the lyrics are pretty wild, Jon's delivery is on point. Pretty sure the only tracks I'm not big on at this point are Young Robot, Floss Dickie Bounce, and Man Of The Year,

everything after and including "make your move tonight" in FDB saves the song. speaking of the album as a whole, it really is remarkable how each song has at least one otherworldly melody.

Jon Mess makes Bob Dylan look like Tilian Pearson.
