Mine is 128kbps and it sounds alright. Not the worst leak quality I've listened to in recent memory haha.

 

Stealing an idea from the ETDI thread, I'd love to see this band tour on this album!

 

I had a dream last night that a better quality leak was online when I woke up... my dreams never come true

 

I learned Young Robot on guitar (bar one riff) and love the song now! Also like Flossie Dickey Bounce way more, even despite listening to the leaked version put to a fucking dragonball z video on youtube. 2nd half of it is so nice to listen to, even in such bad quality.

 

Yeah this is Tilian's best vocal performance

 

Impression after several listens: the first 7-8 songs put it on pace to be the best in their catalog. In fact, "Chucky" is the weakest song of that whole batch. It's just a shame that the quality tails of a bit for the final 5 songs. Right now it stands a hair behind AS as a complete record, but if those later songs grow on me it might surpass it.

 

"Betrayed by the Game" is one of my favorite songs in their entire catalog, along with "Man of the Year", so I'll have to disagree with you there haha

 

Tilian sounds completely fantastic here until he does his new falsetto coos every once in a while. Maybe I just gotta hear the album again to understand it better but I cringed very hard each time at that tbh. It sounds like it was originally tracked out of tune at points and then pitch corrected. The singing into aggressive shouting at extremely high ranges is a really impressive vocal technique to listen to and appreciate the urgency in it and the music around it. And he has some fun melodies.

At its best, this album seems very fun so I am happy to have that reaction. There are still some stinkers here but fortunately it's a longer album. There is definitely not as much variety to the album as some implied and that is not inherently a bad thing. The strongest 4 tracks here tread the same territory. It is alot better than the last two. But, if I'm going to compare it to those two, it unfortunately lacks the type of track that fills the same sort of zany space that they've dedicated at least 1 track to on every album since Deathstar (Uneasy Hearts), as well as Honey Revenge or Strawberry 3 or Stroke God.

 

I haven't listened yet but I can at least agree "Betrayed by the Game" is easily one of their best songs and easily my favourite Tillian song so far.

 

Betrayed by the Game is just so fucking catchy.

According to last.fm I've played it 45 times.

 

I'm getting so impatient for a HQ rip of this album.

 

No lie, I must've checked this album's page on Kingdom Leaks four times yesterday.

 

"Chocolate Jackalope," just graced my ears for the first time...I'm blown away. Tillian really found his stride on this album.

 

Didn't realize 'til just now, but Merchnow pre-orders were slightly delayed. Originally said they would ship on this past Friday, but are now shipping tomorrow (Monday) instead.

 

This is why I stopped preordering things that don't come with day-of digital releases.
They never seem to ship on time.
Merchnow is one of the biggest offenders.

 

I've ordered from Merchnow for years with no issues... Until this year. There was a delay on the Pierce the Veil album I pre-ordered for my girlfriend, they didn't even ship my Paper Route pre-order until release date, and now there's this little delay.

 

There's a 192kbps rip on The Pirate Bay if anyone's conviction is still intact.

 

It's most likely the same transcode from the 128 kbps rip that's been on What.CD the past few days.

 

Yeah I just attempted to listen to that and holy goddamn tits that sounded like shit. 192 is bad, but it's not that bad. Nevermind.

 

I'm happy to wait for this honestly. I have a lot of stuff to tide me over.
