Does he see himself eventually returning to a heavier band (i.e. DGD, ALLB)? Does he do any guest vocals on the new DGD album?
Zac was the best member of DGD Lame confession but him wearing a shirt that said "Listen to Neutral Milk Hotel" got me into Neutral Milk Hotel
Are you guys actually sun worshippers? If not, I do wish you'd change your name so as not to send the wrong message. Paganism is dangerous.
I feel like "hail" is an odd word to use then, unless the sun is some kind of fascist tyrant who demands obedience and praise, which makes the name even more objectionable. Question #2: Are you guys fascists? If not, I do wish you'd change your name so as not to send the wrong message. Fascism is dangerous.
Do any of you remember how Slaves had a fill-in guitarist named Jonathan Wolfe who the band ditched in Texas? Well I heard from someone that he's actually COMING BACK to the band after all that, to fill in for Alex Lyman now that he's leaving. Also, Tai's been throwing shade at the band on Twitter so it looks like he might be gone soon too lol.
I was just listening to Honey Revenge, and is anyone else amazed that song received, like, no backlash? I remember people being displeased with Eagle vs. Crows, but Honey Revenge - a song I feel like, in the current cultural climate, could legitimately hurt a band's career - nobody seemed to give a shit. Thought that was odd. Or maybe there was immense backlash and I just missed all of it. I don't know. Point is, has Tree City Sessions leaked yet?
Yeah there was backlash if I remember correctly, but not too much. It's not that bad of a song IMO, but it's problematic for sure.
I always viewed Honey Revenge as the same type of song as Say Anything's "Property", where it's written about a douchey character and not about something Max (or in this case, Tilian) actually would ever think or do.
Here it is; my interview with Kurt Travis. We spoke about the future of Esque Records, his collaboration with Thomas Erak, the story behind Chino Moreno's guest spot on Caviar, video games, and more! Kill The Music Podcast #77 Kurt Travis
listened to this driving home from school, great interview and very personable. it's part of the reason kurt has always appealed the most to me.
if I were to rank their discog it'd be like: Downtown battle mountain 2 death star instant gratification downtown battle mountain 1 acceptance speech happiness all fantastic but AS' production and the lack of Jon Mess on happiness put them at the bottom for me :/
the band has often said they incorporate satire (eagle) and other perspectives (honey) within their songwriting. i don't believe it's problematic as much as it is lyrical exercise. on another note, tilian released a fantastic cover of work by rih () and of course reddit users are already calling THAT problematic. I'm in college and i am fairly liberal myself but i am not actively trying to find something offensive in everything i come across.
I don't even know how I'd rank their albums right now. S/T is #1, IG is last, but the rest bounce around.
Figured I should make you guys aware that this is going on now... honestly, as much as I dislike Jonny as a person I hope this video isn't made public. Addiction isn't a sideshow to point fingers at.
i agree. jonny is such an asshat and the past (mac book, drug addiction, etc.) won't change. but it felt so good seeing him perform on the dgd 10 year tour. i actually believed that he was bettering himself.
The fact that anyone thinks public shame is somehow going to turn Jonny around THIS time isn't thinking straight. This whole situation is a mess.
