Makes sense. I would be interested to hear a record produced by someone else. I know they did with Matt Malpass on Acceptance Speech but I'd like them to do it again.

 

It's probably my favourite DGD song in general.

 

I used to song along to Times New Roman as a way of training my voice. I mean I'm a horrible singer but I think it helped

 

Those high and low notes make for a great vocal warm up for sure. It's my personal favorite opener though a case could really be made for We Own the Night and I'm still holding out for Chucky vs. the giant tortoise.

 

i'm prob being way too critical and reading into it but the breakdown in awkward felt almost ironic bc the lyrics sound like it's from typical airhead singer in the scene kinda thing

I am really excited for Mothership, I've been taking a bit of a break from the genre lately, but I'm ready for new DGD.

 

I'd go see them if they'd ever come back to the DC area. They are hitting Baltimore at the crappiest venue I've ever been to combined with the worst customer service through Soundrink. I refuse to ever give money to that company again. Oh well.

Pre-ordered the mint vinyl last night. This is one of the few bands that I pre-order stuff before ever hearing a song haha.

Very. Is this Rise's new thing now, launching pre-orders then waiting a substantial length of time before releasing a single? Seems like other Rise artists have been doing the same thing.

 

Recently learned Thug City on guitar (super fun to play btw), and ever since I have been listening to DBM2 a lot!!! Album is actually cool as hell, particularly from a guitar point of view. It's ridiculously technical, and quite impressive how both guitar parts are somehow complimentary yet seem totally independent of each other (and are both played by the same guy!!!).

Just a shame Jonny was trash & it's objectively their worst album overall...

 

Yeah no doubt Will put a lot of effort into his licks on it.

Soundstage isn't that bad, Rams Head and Rock and Roll Hotel are worse

 

I think Rams Head is miles above Soundstage. Bigger too. Rams Head is cleaner and larger volume. Soundstage is such an awkward layout in plan and the floor is like falling apart. Such a trashy venue in my opinion.

But, I also haven't been to Ram's Head since like 2010, so it could have changed a lot by now.
