I still like Acceptance Speech more than Instant Gratification, but these are all good albums

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked AS better than IG. IG just didn't have much lasting appeal for me even though these songs are awesome live. Death of a Strawberry gets everyone going

 

I am gonna wait until I've listened to every album a couple times before giving a real ranking or anything, but I've been pretty a pretty stark Tilian supporter. I've liked this band over a year and only now feel comfortable enough to really explore non-Tilian stuff because how much I liked AS and IG.

 

So how about that 2016 world tour? Best news to wake up to!

 

Would be cool to go to, but it's only 4 days after I see The Dear Hunter and I can't go to Carborro (2 hour drive) twice in a week.

 

Every time they come to Dallas lately it's for a shitty festival. Guess I'm not seeing them this time either

 

I'm seeing them twice in November but it still feels so long away :(

 

@Benjamin Lee Driving two hours is definitely worth it for The Dear Hunter though. Thankfully this time around they're coming to my city.

 

@Gooddayz Definitely. I'm super excited to see them. :)

 

They skip over DC every time now so I guess I'll never see them live again. Not worth the hour trip to Baltimore. Especially with the crappiest venue ever as well as it being run through Sound Rink again. That company blows and I lost $50+ from them with no return.

 

according to Tilian's twitter, DGD 8 is complete!!!

 

I'm thinking an October release?

 

I'm actually still feeling the September release. I feel like DGD and Rise are gonna want to get this out as soon as they can.

 

Haven't they been saying that it's out in September for a while?

 

Hoping the album is out before I see them in Chicago on September 30.

 

After listening to all of the pre-Tilian stuff, I think Deathstar is my favorite one of the bunch. Jon Mess's half of People You Know might be my least favorite thing the band has done though.

 

Yes! Deathstar is the best.

 

Happiness is the best pre-Tilian album imo

 

It's weird I never see people talking about that one. I always hear about DBM or Happiness and that's it.

 

Makes sense. For some reason I thought I heard a September release date but couldn't remember if they'd just said fall. Either way I'm pretty sure we'll have it by October for sure!

 

Yeah, they've said September was the target release since before they went in the studio I'm pretty sure. I'm gonna guess it'll release on the 16th or 23rd of September to coincide with their fall tour. (I hope so at least, I'm really interested in what they do with this album. haha)

 

they're not on Hopeless so it still could be out September.

 

Is Hopeless bad with getting albums out quickly? haha Only album I have from Hopeless is Emarosa's "131".

 

Recently Hopeless tend to announce albums 3-4 months in advance.

 

Stoked for DGD 8 for sure.

Hoping for cameos from Kurt and Jonny, but not holding my breath. Just felt like it made sense considering the big tour they did with all the OG singers.
