like I said we own the night got me right back into the band after many years of feeling burned by the post-happiness eras
Instant Gratification is pretty much my favorite album at this point. For a long time it used to be Happiness, but sometimes I get tired of Kurt's shouty delivery.
i listen to IG and mothership the most but acceptance speech and artificial selection were my go-to's for the longest. afterburner got played into the ground when it first came out and hasnt found its way into my regular listening habits quite yet but it'll get there.
In my case Mothership really got me back into being a huge fan after initially liking the Tilian era but not completely “clicking” with it for whatever reason. So it took me a while to really give Acceptance Speech and Instant Gratification the attention they fully deserved… now I love both.
I thought acceptance speech was incredible after not really caring for the Kurt era. Then mothership very quickly became one of my favorite records of the past 5-10 years.
Acceptance Speech > Mothership > Afterburner > Artificial Selection > Instant Gratification I saw a Tilian interview where he said "I was basically just doing Tides of Man over Will's riffs on AS, then I 'found my voice' on IG." Yeah... that's why AS is the GOAT, lol.
afterburner>deathstar>happiness>instant gratification>mothership>acceptance speech>artificial selection>dbm2 dbm1 is hard for me to place these days; whatever
instant gratification > mothership > acceptance speech > happiness > dbm 2 > dbm > artificial selection > deathstar > afterburner i fucking love afterburner so it being last has nothing to do with its quality and more to do with it being the newest and not having the years and years i have with all the others. it took forever for mothership and IG to hit those top spots
Mothership Acceptance speech DBM1 Afterburner instant Gratification DBM2/Artificial Selection Deathstar Happiness
Artificial Selection Afterburner + Mothership tied 2nd Happiness Instant Gratification Deathstar Acceptance Speech DBM DBM2
Death Star (which is two words, not one, you gaggle of shameless frauds) Mothership Happiness Afterburner Acceptance Speech Downtown Battle Mountain Downtown Battle Mountain II Artificial Selection Instant Gratification
Their disog could fluctuate daily depending on the mood. They definitely have ton of depth and 3 great singers.
I was listening to Deathstar last night after not really paying it any attention the last few years, and goddamn there is some seriously good shit on there. Alex English/Robot 3/Caviar all serious jams, and I think 'Burning Down the Nicotine Armoire Pt.2' is one of the most underrated DGD songs ever
