Had to come back around to this album and actually sit and read the lyrics cause I was baffled at some of the stuff I missed early on. Playing the victim, villainizing women, and talking about basically being an irresponsible/egotistical twat. Whole thing gives me Grade A douche chills.

Never thought he was a good writer to begin with, but now that he’s also full of himself, it’s actually intolerable. This album is bad, this band is trash at this point.

And I didn’t even remotely touch on the fact that the band allowed him to write an entire song about a women getting fake boobs for her confidence to be rebuilt seemingly? Like actually get fucking bent if you still like this dude.

 

Dude has always written trash lyrics throughout his career since his first DGD album and perhaps even dating back to Tides Of Man

 

Comes across as a guy who is extremely worried about being "cancelled", because he knew he was engaging in the exact behaviours that would get him cancelled and he feared things catching up to him. I always detested that song 'Born to Fail' as the lyrics came across as both egotistical and whiny/petty at the same time - looking back now I am embarrassed that was the only song I got that vibe from, and how I had a "different read" on many of the examples you quoted above

 

That was me who posted about the auditions. Either my source was wrong or they decided to continue with Tilian after the auditions.

 

Will has never seemed, on the surface, to be anyone but an extremely quiet and talented guy who really is the backbone of this small pocket of the scene. He’s got a successful record label and plenty of talented people around him he can work with. Don’t understand why he would be willing to go down with this ship when he could just do the right thing, denounce the shitty actions of those friends he can’t seem to part ways with, put this band to rest and then move on with his career.

 

Probably because the majority of his profit comes from his shitty band and because he knows he can get away with it

Which is why I say fuck Will and every sack of shit in this asswater band

 

I almost wonder if he's put himself in a position similar to some pro athletes where he's got a "camp" of label people and managers for various projects he's involved in, all in his ear telling him what the correct business decisions are. In reality, as in sports, lots of them are probably just parasites concerned solely with self preservation. I agree with your impression of him and want to withhold judgment on him as a person until we know exactly how this saga ends.

Also, assuming the victim's latest update is 100% accurate, I just don't understand how the band could actually think lawyering up and tying their fate to Tilian's is the sensible business move in 2022.

 

Yeah that statement from the victim regarding the entire band attempting to silence her is awful. Just about as bad of a reaction as you could expect in a situation like this. Impossible for me to make any type of leeway for any member now in the grand scheme of things, and my impression is changing as this thread continues. Having been a big fan since around 15, I definitely recognized a bias I had somewhere in the past year where I’ve been more forgiving to this band than I probably should’ve been over the years. Always looking at the vocalists as their own entities, but they are all a party to this behavior at this point.

 

Since her claims only implicate Tilian I see no purpose of the entire band to be suing her. Why not just let Tilian do it without their names attached and move on from him? Tilian also admitted to basically everything both women said (at least in the "I didn't see it that way" admittance). I assume they would plan to be going after damages for the tour they (rightfully so) got dropped from. Just really gross to be even imagining them sitting there agreeing to send this C&D.

 

At least someone knows how to take accountability for their actions lol

 

I’m honestly kinda glad I had DGD ruined for me on this current tour now. It’s one thing for a band to sue for defamation if they honestly believe the accusations are false, still weird territory I wouldn’t want to get into, but Tilian admitted to it. Insane to me that this band saw their vocalist admit to r*** and then still lawyered up? I’m pretty sure this girl has gone through enough and doesn’t deserve to be dragged into even more shit. Fuck this band.
