This is by far the most evidence of any of the accusations. Literally the whole thing. Meticulous texts/screenshots, and a photo inside his apartment. https://www.reddit.com/r/dancegavin...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf https://imgur.io/a/NMCXVvV
What a shit show all around. Alcohol, lust, and insecurities are not a healthy combination to combat grief or fill that sense of loss. Its awful to see that it appears he went too far in these sexual escapades and these women got caught up in it. I wonder if Kurt will come back or Andrew will take over on clean vocals?
Sheesh yeah, he’s done. Bring Kurt back. EDIT: also kind of surreal because I was at that Birmingham show. I got married at that venue he’s talking about.
For real though, I’m seeing some people talking like DGD is done. I feel like they’ve gone through so much, so I wouldn’t fault them for calling it quits, and if they knew about this behavior and covered it up or turned a blind eye, then they should. But they’re arguably more popular than ever. If they stay together, do they shift Andrew over to lead vocals? Bring Kurt back? A different option?
I feel like (assuming they do the right thing here which I DEEPLY hope for) if they decide to continue Andrew is the obvious choice currently.
Speaking from a musical standpoint, at least we got one more album with Tilian. They've been absolutely killing it over this last couple releases. I don't think this needs to be the end for him strictly speaking, but clearly he needs to step away from the scene/social media/spotlight and processes whatever has been festering inside him over the past couple months. To me Kurt is the obvious choice, I absolutely love his work with Royal Coda. I think he'd slot right back in stylistically.
Just thought you should know this reads like “Well if Tilian is a rapist, at least I got one more album of music from him with the band before he was found out, cause I really liked the last few.”
If the band boots him and continues, I have a feeling it'll be Kurt or someone new. I think Andrew has made it pretty well known that Eidola is his baby and the band that really matters to him, so I don't think he'll want to front both. But I obviously can't speak for him
I mean either you can separate the music from the musician, or you cannot. Being able to does not make you demeritorious.
Oh that’s what you were doing, got it. For a second there I thought you were prioritizing your own desires over the conversation of whether or not this guy is a fucking rapist and shouldn’t have a platform in music which he uses to, ya know, rape.
My brother is Christ if you wanna listen to Tillian's music be my guest but read the fucking room. Good lord
The conversation has been had and his actions speak for themselves. How things evolve over the coming weeks will most likely be for the best. What more is there to be said. This small community has unfortunately another example of where substance abuse, suffering, and narcisism leads you.
Until musicians, artists, and any/all people with some sort of celebrity status in their fields stop physically abusing people and their platforms, the conversation isn’t over or “had.” There’s a lot to be said, especially when there are multiple accounts coming out as the day unfolds, in the first few days. In fact, probably not enough has been said. And if you think the logical movement of the thread is gonna be to go back to anticipating JJ and being excited, well then I think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
Assuming they do the right thing and kick him out, I wonder what happens to the album. Surely they still release it. Jon was gone when Deathstar came out, but this feels different.
