I was going through some old photos and videos yesterday and came across a video from the first time I saw them in 2015 and yeah, they're really on top of their game right now
i forgot about lyrics lie too but given how massive those other 2 are it again seems silly to not play at least one lol. Basically I just reaaaally wanted to see them haha. they definitely sound as good as ever though and it was really refreshing to go into a show for a scene band with as many records as they have and not know exactly what they’re going to play (cough cough underoath, silverstein, TBS, etc). They mix it up as well as any.
Yeah I feel that. They've played Nothing Shameful and/or Evaporate on some previous tours I've seen them on, definitely were some of my favorite live moments. I am kinda surprised they phased out Nothing Shameful from the setlist because the crowd response to that one was really good before.
Was Andrew touring with em at that point? He sang a lot last night and they did play Lyrics but I can’t say I actually heard him at any point over Tilian and Jon. Was hoping to hear him in isolation! Anyways this means the next tour is gonna be incredible.
Yeah he's been their main touring guitarist since 2015/16. He only became an "official" member this album cycle but he's been effectively a part of DGD for years now.
Officially bought tickets to see them in DC. They aren't headlining, so I'm hoping to get a decent amount of songs out of them. Regardless, it'll have been 4 years since I've seen them and my 8th time seeing them.
I guess I didn’t notice/remember, heh. That makes things less frustrating then. would’ve been weird to ask a guy to join the band, presumably to sing, and then immediately stop playing the songs he sings on.
he wasn't asked to join the band to sing though, he has his own band for that and this band already has tilian and jon plus will still raps every now and then. now, of course, he is going to be lending vocals to stuff more often now, which is really just a lovely byproduct of the decision, but the point of him joining the band was primarily as a second guitarist and to help with songwriting
also jfc i feel bad for any band that has to headline after a DGD set. anything else would be boring after that.
i said any band - has nothing to do with coheed, i specifically worded it that way on purpose lol its true for me seeing will swan on guitar is like hendrix at woodstock
Yeah that’s the local sac abc. Someone posted the written version on Twitter and saw they interviewed Tim’s mom. Also they revealed his cause of death which I was surprised about but since they were speaking with his mom I’m assuming she gave permission to disclose.
Edit: ok just watched that and they led with the cause of death so what I read was different and obviously she was ok revealing that. Feel so bad for her and her family
I couldn’t finish the news segment. Hearing the cause of death revealed and then seeing Tim’s mom cry was painfully sad. No parent should have to experience their own kid pass.. RIP Tim :(
