It is incredible, my favourite Tim song by far. Whenever I used to write my own music, his work on Summertime Gladness was not an influence it was THE influence for the bass parts, every time - it is such a great example of his style; giving the song a solid foundation but still expressing himself, mixing technical playing with good use of effects but always in service of the song as a whole, and just making something that is enjoyable to listen to and fun to play along to. I also love the intro verse to Three Wishes too; his playing is both the perfect connector between Will's guitar & Matt's drums and still something that your ear is just drawn to by itself, and is one of my fav DGD "sections" of all time.
Yeah, and his work in Wolf & Bear is great too. Every member of DGD has at least one other project that they're a part of. Will Swan (Secret Band, Royal Coda, Sianvar) Matthew Mingus (Secret Band) Jon Mess (Secret Band) Tilian Pearson (Solo) Andrew Wells (Eidola) I wouldn't be surprised if there are others I don't know of too.
Came across some brief footage from the vigil on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/dancegavin.../?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
He was also a huge blink fan which was the majority of my twitter/in person discussions with him. His forearm tat was a take on Tom's forearm tat. Man I still can't believe this. I really hope the rest of the bandmates are OK.
Yeah I knew all the others (eidolas latest album is one of my favorites in that style in a looooooong ass time) and I’ve listened to wolf and bear just didn’t know Tim was involved.
So much respect for them. They certainly did not have to press on so soon after, and nobody would’ve blamed them for canceling the whole tour. Swanfest is gonna be very emotional now but I’m looking forward to it.
this news is so devastating. feel so lucky that i got to meet him even once, it was a brief conversation but he was super friendly. just terrible.
I saw one post before it was taken down so take this with a pinch of salt - apparently Tim was married but separated from his wife 8 months or so ago (possibly ended badly but not sure), and she is currently refusing to sign the body over to Tim's family, so they and the band are unable to hold the proper memorial they had planned for this coming weekend Tim's brother:
