Lost’s lyrics just lack any coherent point or messaging

 

i love the new Secret Band songs, if only Jon would do more interesting vocals like these songs in DGD more often, they would be upped to a whole new level!

I'm not saying they're perfect guys, but you're really gonna pull THAT out of a masturbation joke?

EDIT: Now after skimming theough the album, "No One I Know" is kinda concerning lyrically. So is the fact he uses the R-slur twice on the album.

Yeah, that’s a bit of a reach lol. This album’s lyrics are peak Mess, I don’t think searching for a deeper hidden meaning is gonna yield anything at all tbh

I think Petting Zoo Justice is Jon’s masterpiece

 

Got through about 2 and a half songs of that album before I had to turn it off.

 

the secret band LP, to me, sounds like glassjaw, the chariot, and maybe even some dillinger escape plan in there. to me those are all good things so it gets a big thumb up from this guy

 

yup Mess is straight channeling Scogin on it at points, it's ridiculous

 

Haven’t gotten a chance yet to fully dive into the Secret Band LP, but what I’ve heard of it has been absolutely enthralling. Seems like it’s a career highlight performance from Jon, and the guitar work is very distinctly different from even the heaviest DGD songs, only further cementing to me that Will is untouchable in terms of diversity and skill among his peers. He honestly might be my favorite guitarist at this point.

 

I hear 0 Chariot in their style and even less Glassjaw. Just sounds like cool riffs that Will slams together and the breakdowns he never used in DGD songs. It's fine to enjoy it, but it sounded like a car accident for the songs I listened to. There's no real direction, just a lot of guitar talent Will has. But he writes MUCH, much better songs for DGD than he does for this band.

In fact, this isn't even in the same ballpark as Glassjaw.

 

i give it a solid 8.5/10, love the chariot and glassjaw influence!
