gotta listen on headphones but can't right now :\ : \ : \ but i like what i heard i wish secret band didn't exist cause i like the really jon heavy shit like "People You Know" that gave the album a weird bend
I'm willing to write off most of the reasons I couldn't get into Mothership as flukes specific to that album, but this is an actual concern now imo
I think that the guitarwork is phenomenal, really gives room for the song to actually breathe, unlike a lot of stuff in Mothership, which is something that I wasn’t too fond of. Even comparing this to Betrayed by the Game, the songwriting just sounds much more focused. I’m really excited because I think this is what I wanted...the intro sounds like a long lost Conditions song, and there’s an uplifting quality to the song, rather than an invert funkiness which is really great to hear I need more Mess’ melodic screaming on this album
Don’t forget theres 14 songs on this thing lol And their first singles are usually one of the poppiest songs on the album
I love Mess and this song is alright I guess but I just expected something groovier/experimental. They took an extra year and Summertime Gladness bangs so I am just disappointed. Plus it was either this or the new Tancred record since I spend way too much money on vinyl and I’m trying to cut back
He'll be able to find a copy of this if the other 13 songs are good. Maybe even be able to preorder it again. But nothing stings like PO-ing an album and having it suck (letlive I'm thinking of you) so he's making a solid call for the time being lol
Oh man- I almost preordered “If I Am The Devil..” and I am soooooo glad I didn’t. It’s happened to me too before so I feel your pain.
I did the opposite with TBB, heard the clip for Banshee on an ad the day it came out and immediately went to Best Buy to get it lol
I tried really hard to get into Letlive... There was one song on that last album I really liked though. It was the one about race issues. Can’t remember the name right now. I thought that song slayed both musically and lyrically. The rest of that album? Not so much.
Blackest Beautiful is a stellar record, still, even with the shittiest production ever. If I’m The Devil has like... 3 solid songs and the rest are either meh or terrible. I don’t know why the band put it out.
TBB is one of the most ferociously groovy albums I’ve listened to. I’ve grown to really enjoy the production. I’m one of the few people who loves what they went for with it
I will agree with you on production- it’s total garbage. Good Mourning, America. Definitely one of the (few) great songs on that record.
Song is good, pre-chorus is great and is stuck in my head after 2 listens, and will be pre-ordering this album as soon as it's up on iTunes. Video Mess classic as usual
Yes, yes, yes! Really like the song, and the fast drums in the verses was a nice surprise. Fun video too. Skatecat approves.
