Okay so, I was actually in the Swanposting group and can summarize this: Mikey Sawyer is a known abuser and general piece of shit, he’s the frontman of the band Miss Fortune and has a terrible reputation in the scene. Some Swanposting members frequently called out abusers in the scene including Jonny, and I guess somehow Mikey’s history of abusive behavior became a topic of conversation on there... and so Mikey managed to report the group for abuse and get the WHOLE GROUP taken down. Several DGD members were in that group and related groups, so they probably weren’t too pleased since it was actually a pretty popular discussion forum about the band.
Mikey Sawyer is such a creep. He messages girls about raping them and then tries to play the victim when people call out his behaviour. At least this whole thing is making more people aware of how awful he is.
I wish DGD could stop being associated with this toxic people shitty music scene sign to a non shit label with other non shit bands and play non shit tours
Rest of their careers. Rise are the only label that can allow a band like DGD to be successful. Smaller indie labels probably wouldn't accept their risks and their not big enough to go bigger. They're basically the posterboys of that label.
Don't understand how the wouldn't stay on Rise. Dumb not to. The publicity and exposure they got for the past two albums can be directly related to Rise.
They have no reason to leave Rise and they clearly don't care about negative associations as much as ya'll might like them too. They are very much a product, and at times contributor to a toxic scene, they have no real audience outside of it.
As it happens I randomly stumbled upon Good Tiger a while ago and still can't decide if I like them or not.
That’s how I was too! My friend recommended them to me, and I was not feeling them at all. It changes White....it changes.
I back this hard. They opened for a DGD tour a year or two ago I believe. Elliot Coleman is such a talented vocalist.
